U.S. Sens. Brian Schatz and Tim Kaine have introduced a War Powers Resolution in an attempt to force a debate and vote in Congress to prevent further escalation of hostilities with Iran, Schatz said.
“Congress, not the president, has the constitutional authority to declare war, and I oppose a war with Iran,” Schatz, D-Hawaii, said Monday in a release. “No one mourns the death of Iranian Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleimani, a ruthless terrorist responsible for the deaths of thousands, including hundreds of Americans.”
But Trump’s decision to have him killed him near Baghdad airport “carries serious strategic consequences for which he was unprepared, including the unraveling of our relationship with Iraq, undermining our ability to prevent ISIS’s return, and putting U.S. diplomats and service members in Iraq and the region in danger,” Schatz said.

OMG, LOL, at Tim Kaine. I still recall his absurd and ill mannered behavior at the debate with Mike Pence. That debate may well have convinced some truly undecided voters, to vote for the Trump-Pence ticket.
And Trump is the Commander and Chief just like Obunghole and Cliton who sent drones and dropped bombs where ever they wanted to with no congressional approval.
I think what’s happening, is that, because it’s Trump, now the liberals/Democrats/media are aghast at military actions.
When a good Democrat performs such actions, then it’s ok. When Obama took out Bin Laden, the media, liberals, and even the hens on “The View” celebrated. But Trump taking out this terrorist has everyone aghast about triggering World War 3.

Killing Soleimani Was The Right Move, And Shows Precisely Why It’s Time To Leave Iraq

Rather than ask how to whip Iran, we should be wondering if our blood and treasure is better served in defending against the real threats to our homeland. Unending American war in the Middle East drains our coffers, military strength, and political will, all to the glory of Moscow and our true enemies in Beijing. Meanwhile, foreign policy hawks in Washington are terrified Russia might follow our lead, as they have in Syria. Since his inauguration, President Donald Trump has killed the leader of ISIS, and now the Iranian general responsible for hundreds of American dead. He’s done a great deal to clean up the mess his predecessors left him in Iraq and Syria. Now it is time to disengage.
Why would this surprise anyone? Liberals I know were all incensed by BushII’s military actions. They’d say war is never a solution. I’d call them all out saying that they were fine with Clinton bombing people. Then they’d say that’s different. They’ve always been the worst sort of hypocrites. Not one of them has a single iota of self-awareness.
