That's a pretty useless idea there, Steve. And POTUS won't do it -- he'll stroll on in and give the State of the Union to a bunch of Demagogic Party demwits who probably shouldn't appear without bags with eyeholes -- and not just for that one even, but from now on, until they die or until no one remembers who they are. If the inevitable acquittal has taken place, great, if it hasn't, he'll look more presidential than anyone since the three important faces on Mount Rushmore.

I have a question. During the Senate trial, will the Dem House managers be allowed to present the hearsay evidence or will that be objected to and not allowed? If that is the case, it seems the prosecution part will be very short.
Maybe the GOP will object and Roberts will make a ruling. This is not a normal trial.

I would rather see President Trump continue with business as usual (I mean as usual for him). Give the State of the Union, act presidential, and make them look like petty children playing politics. It will work because it’s obviously true.

Not exactly he has to give it but the law does not say how; it is now tradition to do so as a speech but as I recall early on they just sent a letter. Check out wiki it confirms the law. As an earlier post indicated, do it at a rally - in the largest arena available and advertise it as his state of the union to the people not to their representatives.
