Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly suggested during a meeting with Bashar al-Assad last week that the Syrian president invite President Trump to Damascus.
In a video of the conversation between Assad and Putin at the Orthodox Church of the Virgin Mary in Damascus, Assad mentions the Apostle Paul’s conversion to Christianity after a vision at the gate of Damascus, Axios reported.
“If Trump arrives along this road, everything will become normal with him too," the Syrian leader said, according to the news outlet.

Ever wonder why the American Left hates Assad?
Could it be because he has defended Syria’s Christians from the mania jihadists? The kind of jihadists who nearly annihilated the Christians in Iraq after we took out Saddam and allowed the country to descend into chaos.
All you have to think of about this is the way the Media, the Democrats [but I repeat myself] and the Twitter bluechecks treated Tulsi Gabbard for being a grownup and meeting with Assad.
Why?
The Left had no problem with Nixon meeting with Mao - who massacred Christians. But meeting with Assad - who defends his country’s Christians - is a crime for the Left.
I’m sure that’s going to happen. Why not invite him to Tehran? Nothing better for Putin and other anti Americans, like democrats, than to get the president blown up in that radical Islamic hell hole.
Maybe the Left is right and Trump is colluding with Putin...

No, it won’t. Trump may meet with Assad eventually, but it won’t be in Syria.

Assad isn’t a Muslim. He’s one of the fiercest foes of both Isis and Al Quada. McCain hated Assad even though - or because? - he defends Syria’s Christians against jihadis.

Yes, Putin, who supports Christianity, protects children from homo-propaganda, criticizes Greta GlobalwarmingGirl, and who institutes a low flat income tax that is less than a third what people pay in California, is “like democrats.” Sure. Stop drinking the propaganda cool-aid, friend.
Yet to embarass President George W. Bush, Nancy Pelosi had a very public meeting with Assad. She of course was wearing an appropriate head scarf.

Because they also knew it would erode Nixon's support from Conservatives. Support Nixon would have needed when they went after him for Watergate.

Trump has stated that he is willing to meet and talk with anybody. I don’t see why not.
