Liz Warren’s green agenda means disaster for housing costs
New York Post ^ | 01/15/2020 | Jonathan Lesser

In addition to embracing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal, Elizabeth Warren recently stated that, as president, she would demand that all new buildings be “carbon-neutral,” starting in 2028.

This latest brainstorm comes on top of the Massachusetts senator’s previous environmental vows: to ban all oil and gas drilling on her first day in office, mandate that all cars and trucks be carbon-neutral by 2030 and force the closure of all existing, carbon-free nuclear power plants. Really?

This is the same Warren who introduced legislation in October 2018 to end homelessness and “housing poverty” in America. Those are real problems. Government should help address them. But her latest green-housing mandate makes zero sense if she wants to address housing poverty: You can’t end that by making housing more expensive everywhere.

To see what a carbon-neutral-building mandate will mean, just look at California. The Golden State has already mandated that all newly built homes have solar panels, raising the cost of new houses by thousands of dollars.

As an alternative, the California Energy Commission has now proposed to give home builders the option to meet the mandate by purchasing solar energy from existing solar farms — the cost of which builders will pass on to . . . new homeowners. Warren wants to turn that hassle for California developers and owners into a national hassle.

Only, Warren’s plan would be even more costly than California’s requirement. In many climates, including New York’s, solar panels on homes and commercial buildings won’t generate much electricity, especially in winter.

This sort of bullchit is what’s crippling the average person in Europe right now. CO2 is a GOOD thing. This is a pure power/money grab and why the likes of her will not get into power - without armed revolution.

Folks, we’re in real danger here. They really believe the climate change thing. They’re already reporting on the radio that that UN using NASA data has declared 2019 the second hottest year on record. Our own government is producing data for the globalists to use against us. What does NASA do again?

I know there are college students out there who would vote for a person for President, on one single issue.... student loan. When fresh out of college, or fresh out of teen age youth.. you end up with a huge loan for an education you sometimes wonder if it helps or not.

If you vote for that college loan forgiveness... and put a socialist in the office of the President... that student loan will become small worries compared to what that socialist puts into the works for you to live by/under/for.

“They really believe the climate change thing. “

The climate is changing. If you have done any farming over the last 30 years you would know. Crops are getting planted in April that year ago would have been end of May.

Does man have some impact? Probably some but I think it’s largely natural or solar changes that have gone on for ages.

Democrats - There’s a very serious shortage of affordable housing.

Also Democrats - To meet our Green Agenda, all new housing must include expensive carbon neutral upgrades.

RE: I know there are college students out there who would vote for a person for President, on one single issue.... student loan.

And these college students really believe that a President can just wave her hand and cancel all student loans? JUST LIKE THAT — POOF, GONE?

For example, you took out a loan of $100,000 to attend NYU, and a President Warren can magically FORCE whoever lent you you the money to cancel your loan?

Who gives the President the constitutional authority to do that?

I wonder what kind of education these kids are getting...

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

The only way that Ms Warren could get away with her unconstitutional demand as president is if another lawless, Democratic-controlled Congress let her get way with stealing and exercising state powers since the states have never expressly constitutionally given the feds the specific power to make such a demand.

”From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added].” —United States v. Butler, 1936.

Ideally, she would also want to wait until her last term to dictate unconstitutional demands like Obama did so that she wouldn’t destroy her chances of getting reelected.

College students are concerned about climate change. Warren should ban gas driven cars for all college students as a way to fight the climate issue.

This will force more people to become dependent on government, since they will not be able to afford a house. This woman is a fasicst and must never become president!

I also read that Napa Valley vintners are experimenting with different varieties of grape that require less early morning cloud cover because the fog is no longer rolling in from the coast as much as it used to.

They barely care the COST of action , let alone all govt 'estimates' are off by a good 10x.

We are getting third cutting on our hayfields about every other year now. End of October 2019 we were baling hay.

My 95 year old uncle said that was unheard of back in his day.

“They really believe the climate change thing.”

That lunatic in the Project Veritas videos is motivated by global warming hysteria. The man in the street thinks that if we just ban plastic straws, everything will be OK. That is incredibly naive. People need to be educated about just how radical and all encompassing this agenda is. These people want absolute and unquestioned control over every aspect of our lives. They know that there will be pushback, and that is why they want the guns.

Look at what they did to GM bond holders. If they can get away with that, they can stiff whoever holds the paper on student loans. If the courts give them trouble, they will pack the courts with their own people. If one of these lunatics wins the presidency, we are looking at a 15, 17 or 19 seat supreme court.
