President Donald Trump’s impeachment defense team will include Ken Starr, whose investigation led to the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, and Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, whose clients have included notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and O.J. Simpson.

The Trump team choices came to light as the president’s impeachment trial is set to begin in earnest next Tuesday in the Senate, where he is accused of abusing power by pressuring Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden last summer while withholding military aid to that nation.

In addition to Starr and Dershowitz, the lawyer Robert Ray is expected to be on Trump’s impeachment defense team. Ray had succeeded Starr has independent counsel in the Whitewater investigation of Clinton.

White House Counsel Pat Cipollone and Trump’s personal lawyer Jay Sekulow are heading the impeachment defense team.

They’ll be hating on him even more if Ken Starr is involved. Good.

They are not impeachment managers?

Starr makes sense because of previous impeachment experience. Dersh knows the law. Still, I want a Jordan on there for the fire.

Agree. It would have been great theater to bring some aggressive House GOPers into the trial. McConnell would never have agree to that, of course.

Mark Levin should be part of the team.

Trump’s having Ken Starr participate is sort of like his giving Juanita Broaddrick a seat in the front row at the Hillary debate. Love it!

Falling into the trap.

This entire impeachment is a phony sham, and it should not be given any legitimacy.

It should be dismissed by a vote at the outset.

Cases are thrown out all the time for lacking merit.

Shoulda been done 4 weeks ago.

Somebody should buy Jordan a suit coat, and put him somewhere on the panel.

Would love to see Jordan unseat our dope-using, cocaine-rattled gravel voice Sharrod Brown and get him in the Senate next time around.

Notice how NBC sneaks in the phrase, “whose clients have included notorious pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and O.J. Simpson” when describing Mr. Dershowitz? Guilt by association is a dirty trick designed to cast aspersions on Trump’s legal team.

Starr is a perfect choice! It brings this all back to the Clinton Impeachment and how the entire Dem Manager team was 100% opposed to that.

Agree with you.

But since that does not appear to be happening, the President will need his best and brightest.

Jay Sekulow will do a good job. He has argued many cases before the US Supreme Court and won those cases.

Am not that excited about Starr and Dershowitz
