Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign in South Carolina contacted law enforcement officials on Thursday after undercover journalists with James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas pressed the campaign to answer questions about violent remarks made by a paid Sanders campaign staffer.
The move by the Sanders campaign to call the police on reporters for asking them tough questions comes after Project Veritas released video earlier this week that allegedly showed Sanders field organizer Martin Weissgerber saying he wanted to kill wealthy people and throw Republicans into camps.
The police officer who responded told Project Veritas, “They said they are going to have no comment. If you try to make contact with them, it’s no comment … it’s one of those things where they wish he hadn’t said that, but they’re standing by him.”

Deputy Police Chief Scott Deckard confirmed that the department responded to calls from the Sanders field office twice on Tuesday, the same day the video featuring a man identified as field organizer Martin Weissgerber was released.
“Both of the calls were regarding individuals allegedly following employees and allegedly threatening employees,” Deputy Chief Deckard said in an email.
In a discussion in the parking lot outside the Sanders office in North Charleston, the officer suggested that the Project Veritas crew could be violating state law, saying, “I don’t know if you’ve brushed yourself up on harassment and stalking in South Carolina.”...
The Sanders camp has not commented publicly on the undercover sting, but Sanders state director Missy Rebik tweeted last week that Iowans “don’t care about political gossip” after the release of a video featuring radical pro-gulag comments from another Sanders field organizer, Kyle Jurek…

In the latest Project Veritas sting video, Kyle Jurek, the self-proclaimed anarcho-communist Soviet Gulag fan who is a field organizer for the Bernie Sanders Campaign in Iowa, admits that he was recently arrested for “weed” after knocking on doors for the campaign. Jurek told the Veritas reporter that the Sanders Iowa field director quickly bailed him out.
Anonymous tipsters from within the Sanders Campaign in Iowa have since told Project Veritas that they are concerned about Jurek’s behavior and fear that he could be a threat to the president...
