The United States is arranging a charter flight on Sunday to bring its citizens and diplomats back from the Chinese city of Wuhan, epicenter of the outbreak of a new coronavirus, the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday.
The plane, with around 230 people, will carry diplomats from the U.S. consulate as well as U.S. citizens and their families, the Journal reported, citing a person familiar with the operation.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Embassy in Beijing said that on Thursday, the State Department had ordered the departure of family members and all U.S. government employees at its Wuhan consulate, but declined to comment on the report that other U.S. citizens would be evacuated from the city.

In the past, they’ve allowed people to quarantine themselves in their homes. Needless to say, people still snuck out to the store, etc.

BTW, on Thursday or Friday a doctor on FBN said that some of the people who’ve died from this virus had no fever at all. A while later, video was shown from an airport with Chinese arriving. Someone sticks a a thermometer on their foreheads, and then they’re waved on through when temps are normal. WTF? I’m not getting warm fuzzies about this “screening”.

When I was a kid, if we had mumps, measles, whooping cough, etc., the doctor would place a “quarantine” sign on the front door. He would remove it when he determined that you were no longer contagious.
I think Mexico told their citizens in Wuhan, they should shelter in place. They cannot return to Mexico at this time.

All those of you asking why US is rescuing its citizens, if you were sick, where would you want to be treated? Communist China or the United States. We can actually make it work here. If you were there, would you prefer to be rescued or would you prefer to be abandoned?
I read yesterday that a Chinese Dr in a hospital there said that he has seen a few patients who presented with abdominal/intestinal symptoms a couple of days prior to respiratory symptoms. That hasn’t gotten much attention.
