... The steady exodus of African Americans has caused alarm and grief in Chicago, the nation’s third largest city, where black people have shaped the history, culture and political life. The population of 2.7 million is still nearly split in thirds among whites, blacks and Latinos, but the balance is shifting. Chicago saw its population decline in 2018, the fourth year in a row. Since 2015, almost 50,000 black residents have left.
They have been driven out of the city by segregation, gun violence, discriminatory policing, racial disparities in employment, the uneven quality of public schools and frustration at life in neighborhoods whose once-humming commercial districts have gone quiet, as well as more universal urban complaints like rising rents and taxes. At the same time, white, Latino and Asian residents are flowing in, and Chicago’s wealthier, whiter downtown, West Loop and North Side have been booming. Lori Lightfoot, the city’s first black mayor in decades, has vowed to stem the loss of longtime residents, and the city has collectively grasped for solutions.
Many black Chicagoans have taken only small steps away from the city, resettling in nearby suburbs in Illinois or Indiana that offer more highly rated schools and a lower cost of living. Others have followed the path of a reverse migration, making homes in places like Atlanta, many decades after black families came to Chicago and other Northern cities in large numbers.
“It’s an American tragedy,” said the Rev. Marshall Hatch, a pastor on the West Side whose congregants have been disappearing for years, heading to cities throughout the Midwest and the South. “Look at the legacy that the African American community had in national politics, in culture, with blues and gospel and jazz, and sports, from Michael Jordan to Ernie Banks. African American Chicago is being destroyed.”

Chicago’s weekend began with a girl reportedly shooting her 11-year-old brother, who had to be rushed to the hospital. By the time Monday morning rolled around, 25 people had been shot, 11 of them minors, police said.
Three died in the weekend violence, all of them adults, according to police.
The shootings occurred between Friday at 6 p.m. local time and 6 a.m. Monday morning, according to CNN’s review of the Chicago Police Department’s major incident reports.

Well they can’t screech “racist” as they did with white flight so they resort to pretending it’s all a big mystery I guess.
I suggest looking at crime stats, cost of living including taxation, and employment prospects.
Will they do so? Nah, I’m sure black flight is going to still be due to “racism” somehow. It’s just how they roll, they have no other explanation.
I’m thinking of the scene in “Braveheart” where William Wallace arrives at the battlefield as the Scottish soldiers lose heart and start drifting away. Wallace attempts to take command but the Scottish clan leaders want to retain control of the rank and file:
“This is our army!”
“If this is your army,” Wallace says, “Why does it go?”
Trump is William Wallace and he is going to get a lot of African American support.

Yeah, crooks and entertainers. Not scientists, real educators, inventors, real leaders
This is like an onion, with multiple layers. But you have to fade back and ask the question, “Why do people go to the cities at all?” It is because cities are centers of commerce and employment. Cities are where the jobs are.
Detroit has ruined the environment that employers need to prosper. The employers left. This means the workers left as well. Then, next onion layer, the city deteriorated and became unsafe. So, even someone who is not working can’t stay there safely.
If someone will pay me $100,000 I will write this up in a 200 page “study.”
