The Trump administration said on Tuesday it will begin treating 5 major Chinese state-run media entities with U.S. operations the same as foreign embassies, requiring them to register their 'employees' and 'U.S. properties' with the State Department.
The new determination is being applied to the...Xinhua News Agency...China Global Television Network...China Radio International...China Daily Distribution Corp... Hai Tian Development USA Inc.......Tuesday's decision, the officials said, is not linked to any recent developments in Sino-U.S. relations and has been under consideration for some time.
The 5 U.S. operations will have to disclose their personnel rosters and hiring and firing decisions and register properties in the US that they rent or own with the State Dept....They also will have to seek advanced approval before they lease or purchase new U.S. properties.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has made more aggressive use of them to spread pro-Beijing propaganda..."The control over both the content and editorial control have only strengthened over the course of Xi Jinping's term in power," said one official. "These guys are in fact arms of the CCP's (Chinese Community Party's) propaganda apparatus."

Excellent. If the Chinese government reciprocates on the US MSM, we don’t care because our MSM isn’t an arm of the government and having them shut out of China means that actual unbiased reporters from other countries have a chance to get published.

Since all the Chinese students who’ve entered our country, in areas of science and higher levels of education etc, as well as areas of governance, media, Hollywood etc, who know they can be called on by china’s leaders at any given time, and that China has means and ways to make certain they cooperate, one does wonder what we should expect if this clap down on China’s activities here continues.

No foreign media, State sponsored or private, should be allowed in the U.S. to report or broadcast without full transparency, AND without us getting the same access.
Next step, remove foreign languages from ballots in the U.S. If you are a naturalized citizen you are supposed to be able to read and write English.

All US Citizens aren’t necessarily loyal to this country as we know so depending on what the Chinese want will determine who is their target....
One thing we know is the Chinese leadership are very patient and waiting is natural for them as they view their long term agenda. .... case in point Senator Feinsteins office director/driver of 20 years had been spying for the Chinese government when she led the Senate Intelligence Committee,...The amount of intelligence a spy embedded in a congressional office could ascertain from simply attending a staff happy hour is astounding....
....Further her husband has made millions in Chinese business dealings while she has served as a top Democrat in intelligence, energy, and foreign affairs.
There was no investigation into Feinstein colluding with China at all – despite that she is ‘widely-regarded’ as a “China Dove” in the Senate.
