CNN’s Van Jones Buries Bloomberg for ‘Disaster’ Debate: ‘Titanic, Meet Iceberg… Tone Deaf on Issue After Issue’

Right after tonight’s big Democratic debate, there was a general consensus on CNN that it went very badly for Michael Bloomberg.

Van Jones put things the most succinctly when he said it was a “disaster” for the former New York mayor:

“Bloomberg went in as the titanic — billion-dollar-machine titanic. Titanic, meet iceberg Elizabeth Warren. She took him to task in a way that I’ve never seen in a debate. She took it over, she prosecuted him. But the worst part about it is for me a lot of African-Americans are placing great hope in Bloomberg, despite the stop and frisk… you’re seeing people trying to move over there, and he just wasn’t ready. He was tone-deaf on issue after issue, and the reason why — he’s not beenin those living rooms, he hasn’t been doing those town halls.”

“His answer on women was terrible, he got destroyed on the NDA question, his answer on stop and frisk was as bad as it could possibly be, and then he basically lied on his answer when it came to redlining,” Jones continued. “He let people down tonight.”

This is what I was thinking before Bloomberg got in and started buying up ads.

I don’t think Bernie even makes the Democrat convention because the DNC doesn’t want the bad optics of all the pissed off Bernie Bros torching the place.

So they’ll “let him go” early... and that check will be in the mail.

I’m in agreement about a open-convention after the first ballot. I would suggest this...if Hillary’s name gets put up or nominated, and you see a massive shift to her in a matter of an hour....probably 20-percent of the delegates will just get up and walk out of the building.

These will be the people who kept thinking throughout 2019 and this primary period that someone from this group of 20-odd people could emerge, and a lot of them put tons of hours and effort into people like Mayor Pete, Joey B, and Bernie. It’ll be a emotional collapse for these delegates and they won’t be able to handle this convention failure.

I agree with you. The Democrats want a clean slate going into 2024. There will be no more Comrade Sanders, Shrillary, or Slow Mo Joe to worry about. A big loss in November with Bernie as the nominee would also cripple AOC, the Squad and the other young commie insurgents. The “Old” Guard Democrats will be able to reclaim the RAT throne and run someone like Moochelle for the president the next time around.

Bern has learned from past...no checks. You do know the 3 biggest lies? That’s #1. Mini Mike knows #2 and mayor Peter knows #3

And, this is not the first time that the enemedia has come to this conclusion after a dem debate. That said, there are a very great many people who will vote for whomever the dem candidate is. No matter what.
Hannity yesterday had his man in the street attend a Sanders rally, reminded Sanders voters how their candidate was screwed by the DNC last time.
Told them about the DNC trying to do it again and then asked if they do it again this year and it’s the handpicked DNC or President Trump will you vote for Trump, the dem or stay home?
Every single person at Sanders rally the guy spoke to said they will reluctantly vote for the dem whoever it is.
This was a small sample but, it went against the speculation that disgruntled Sanders voters would stay home or vote Trump.

Not gonna happen. AOC has bigger pull now than the party elders (Pelosi, Schumer). She will threaten to support a third party candidate and they will cave. Just like they did on impeachment.

The party elders will figure that the election is lost and will let Bernie and AOC go down in flames going against Trump.

Yeah, no. Dems are team players. No chance a sitting Dem Congressperson launches a 3rd party bid with Trump on the ballot.

So if Bloomy is done, and if Biden can’t get any traction, who is left as the great “Centrist” hope.

There’s only one, and you know who she is.

Liawatha takes Mini Mikie to the woodshed.

Bloomberg Is Now ‘Highest Spending Presidential Candidate of All Time’

I wonder whether he thinks all that spending was worth it now.

That's today's assessment.

The number that stay home after Trump beating on Bernie for a couple months will be substantial.

Bloomberg’s cash is trash. He has as much chance of getting elected president as my neighbor’s Chihuahua.

Strategically, letting Breadline Bernie be the nominee and get slaughtered by Trump would be the wisest thing to do. They could then beat the hardcore commies over the head with it for at least a generation.

BUT

The balance of the Supreme Court for at least a generation is up for grabs in the next 4 years. You’ve got to figure Clarence Thomas will retire. When that happens, there will be a block of 4 strict constructionists who are the youngest justices on the court. Then there’s Ruth Buzzard....and the Wide Latina....and old man Breyer. If Trump gets to replace a couple of those which seems probable, he could leave the court with a block of 6 young Strict Constructionists who would be around for decades. All those unconstitutional gun grabs.....a lot of onerous environmental regs which hugely impair property values but which the government doesn’t have to compensate the land owners for and on and on. Blown away.

That’s a stiff price for them.

“Can never recall a time that I totally agreed with Van Jones. He nailed it.”

Van Jones is a hard core realist. He would be behind Bloomberg 100% if he thought he was a viable candidate. He is not.

Bernie either wins the convention outright and leads to the great defeat of the democrat party at the presidential level and down ballot. If his nomination is stolen in a deadlocked convention his fanatic supporters stay home on election day and a great defeat of the democrat party happens both presidential and down ballot.

The democrat party today reminds me of what Margaret Thatcher said once. When asked about her purpose as Prime Minster she said, “To remain in power until the Labor Party regains its sanity.”

Loving this. The DNC wants Doomberg so they destroy Crazy Bernie. Their propaganda wing, the leftist media, want Crazy Bernie so they destroy Doomberg.

Bloomberg has already said a few times now that he is willing to spend what it takes to defeat Trump, regardless if he is the candidate or not. He really hates Trump that bad. Anyone with that kind of hate is mentally ill.
