After Nevada Win, Bernie Sanders Can Only Be Stopped at Great Cost to Democrats
Washinton Examiner ^ | February 22, 2020 | Philip Klein

After racking up a big win in Nevada, Sen. Bernie Sanders is in a commanding position in the 2020 Democratic presidential race...we’ve reached the point where it will be hard for establishment Democrats to stop him without inflicting a great cost on their eventual nominee...The only way to avoid that outcome at this point would seem to be either have all other candidates drop out and unite around one of the more center-left Democrats...Or, alternatively, have Bloomberg unload a blizzard of negative ads targeting Sanders.

The problem is that if their billboards are any indication, Bloomberg's campaign staff really s*cks at political advertising.

"Donald Trump Eats Burnt Steak" just becomes "Bernie Sanders Doesn't Comb His Hair."

I thought it was a joke at first too.

Those billboards are so bad that I almost think Bloomberg is secretly in the race to help Trump.

“Or you could call Madame Pantsuit and ask a favor...”

I’m telling you, that decrepit old man is going to have another heart attack, only this one will be worse.

The rigors of campaigning I tell ya. Or even a simple mix up of his meds.

He has looked awful red in various videos from recent days.

I don’t know if the media is trying to make him look sick via some sort of red filter like they do to Trump with an orange filter or if communism seeps through one’s skin.

Maybe the pace really is getting to him.

If Bloomberg’s people were smart, they would hire an Andrew Yang lookalike to do a five-minute informational on how the math of Sanders’ proposals just doesn’t add up.

Yep. Going after Trump isn’t going to stop Bernie. If anyone else wants to win, they are going to have to go after the 800 pound gorilla in the room, socialism. Even then, it’s going to hurt them with the base, because the base loves socialism.

If Bloomberg is serious, we will see a flood of commercials attacking socialism, and the crazy policies Bernie espouses. Bernie superimposed on scenes of dictators, poverty and breadlines in Venezuela, Nicaragua, North Korea. Of course, it’s hard for most of the other candidates to call out Bernie, because their policies aren’t much different than his.

Bernie probably won’t get 1991 delegates, but if he goes into Milwaukee with a 500 delegate lead over the others, it will be damaging to the Dems if they deny him.

What we want is Bernie to go to Milwaukee just a handful of delegates (say 100-200) shy of 50%.

That will force the super-delegates to do a blatant robbery that would destroy the party for a generation.

The establishment talking heads insist it could not happen, that the super-delegates would not deny the wishes of the caucus and primary voters—which means it could happen!

Dumbocrat party should have just announced long ago that since Sanders is not a democrat he is ineligible to run as one.
But they know the young and the stupid love Bernie so fear losing those votes.
Now they are hoist on their own petard, either shaft him or accept him, either way they lose.

Despite all that I still expect Bloominidiot to buy the nomination out from under Bernie.

Sounds like something they can impeach Trump over. /S

The red tint to Bern’s skin is indicative of excessive blood pressure. When he walked on state that Saturday night after winning the Nevada vote, it was evident his blood pressure is off the charts. Bern cannot deny his coronary problems and if he makes it to November it will be a surprise. He is a prime candidate for a massive stroke. he is only fooling himself.

Sen. Bernie Sanders is in a commanding position in the 2020 Democratic presidential race

Exactly how many delegates has he won? How many does he need to secure the nomination? How many does the current second place candidate have? Before today, Buttigieg had more delegates than Sanders.

The Democratic Party ain't the GOP. For starters, they give delegates out proportionately. Bernie Sanders winning pluralities in every state means a majority of the delegates are going to other candidates. It's not like the GOP where Trump won like 40% of the national popular vote (which was that high because a lot of the later states went overwhelmingly for him after Cruz dropped out and he was the last man standing) but was able to pull out a lot of delegates because many states such as Florida are winner-take-all in the GOP presidential primaries.

DNC feels the pressure to throw it to Biden.

And the Senate GOP Lied, of course, when they said they would investigate Biden after Impeachment.

They (DNC) gave Hillary the Debate Questions, didn’t they?

...."Bloomberg's campaign staff really s*cks at political advertising".....

I took note of that also. The billboards and tickers in Nevada read like a group of grade school kids would put up. But it could also be that Bloomberg's intentions are to reset the attack environment to a softer civil level. If he wins the primary he likely wants debates with Trump on issue differences rather than whats been seen in the primary..
