Even if some leftwad does figure out that the left is wrong about this or that issue, that’s not enough to drive him to those bad old puddytats on the right.
No, you are making the mistake of blaming the electorate. The GOP is a flawed product that has very little appeal to the working class. If the GOP would adopt populist nationalism and protectionism as their key platform planks they would be a majority party forever.
