Our Southern Border Is the Polar Opposite of a Quarantine
Townhall.com ^ | March 9, 2020 | Matt Pinsker

One day in the courtroom, while serving as a special prosecutor on the American/Mexican border, I noticed a strange statistical oddity: 100 percent of all the defendants were men.

I queried the US Marshals and was advised that the women’s sector at the detention facility was under strict quarantine because of a chickenpox outbreak. Border Patrol and ICE were working diligently to keep the outbreak under control and provide emergency medical care to the sick, striving to prevent the disease from reaching the greater American public.

We were extremely lucky with the chickenpox outbreak (and incidentally, Border Patrol and ICE —the twin whipping boys of the far-left —deserve an enormous debt of gratitude for protecting all of us from vast numbers of dangerous diseases, often at great personal risk). But in an era where a global coronavirus pandemic seems increasingly probable, it’s critically important to note that the true “statistical oddity” that day in the courtroom wasn’t the gender of the defendants, but the fact that we caught them in the first place. Of every 10 people who cross the border illegally, only three will ever be caught.

It was either the grace of God —or a lucky roll of the dice —that we prevented a larger outbreak. With tens of millions of undocumented migrants spreading all across America, and large communities of “anti-vaxxers” who eschew modern vaccinations, it wouldn’t take much for this powder keg to ignite.

There is a health crisis at the border. Unfortunately, we don’t know how bad it is, because we have absolutely no idea who is coming and going —or where they’re going to go once they get here.

It’s the polar opposite of a quarantine.

Of the thousands of migrants who illegally cross the border into the US each day, many carry third-world diseases, parasites, and other deadly contagions. Sometimes in the courtroom, we’d see defendants with clearly-visible skin conditions. Often, the detainees were wearing masks while coughing blood. This was especially true of the Bangladeshi migrants, of whom we were catching about 20 to 30 per week (Bangladesh has one of the world’s highest rates of tuberculosis).

As a special prosecutor, I had access to defendants’ files, and contagious diseases and parasites were commonplace. Sometimes at the courthouse, an unknown medical condition would emerge, and instead of going forward on the charges, we would transport the illegal alien directly to the hospital for emergency treatment instead.

I always shake hands with prosecutors and defendants in my home state of Virginia. But while working on the border, I learned to avoid physical contact for my own health and safety —and for the health and safety of others. After court each morning (or, sometimes, in between dockets), we would scrub our hands with soap and antibacterial/viral spray. It’s chillingly foreboding, but we were basically taking the exact same precautions that the CDC is now telling us all to take for the Coronavirus.

That’s because life on the border is like always living in the crosshairs of a potential pandemic. All the ingredients are right there: cramped conditions, diseases, zero oversight. It will only take one spark. And when that spark ignites, thousands (or more) Americans will die.

What happens at the border will eventually happen everywhere. That’s how pandemics work; it’s literally what “going viral” means.

A secure border is at the heart of our nation’s health. The proposals of Bernie Sanders and the “open borders” politicians are sowing the seeds of the next pandemic. It’s not a question of if, but when—and how many.

With all the panic not a single word about closing the border. Why?

Pop Quiz, America:

Why did tribes of men 1000’s of years ago create BORDERS?

Answer: to prevent the spread of contagious diseases. That’s why in most cases, they were natural boundaries.

Just some food for thought.

Wouldn’t want to cut down on “imports” of potential rat voters.

WHY ARE WE ALLOWING CITIZENS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES
WHO ENTER US ILLEGALLY GRANT THEM RIGHTS
THAT THEIR COUNTRY DENY US HAVING
WHEN WE ENTER THEIRS LEGALLY TO VISIT OR RETIRE ???

The issue of sovereignty should not be allowed to get twisted into being propagandized as “White Nationalism”. Use of that term is usually directed when the immigration issue is brought up to devalue of the protections an American citizen have by being one. When allowing the hordes illegally entering the US through the Mexican border avoid enforcing the reciprocal 2nd class treatment that American citizens get while legally residing in Mexico which of course also includes denial of voting privileges..

Today’s so called democrats insist Americans must allow illegals storm in here by the hundreds of thousands despite their cost to us of billion$ in tax dollars, which is never enough. Tax money that should be going to our citizens for their sustenance, health, education, and housing even infrastructure needs. But Americans must do the tax flagellating punishment because we’re the very rich United States and must divert those billion$ to fill the needs of those poor illegals plus give them the right to vote. Sustained by our tax money which our children’s children if not aborted will be paying for.?

Besides flooding the labor market with cheap labor which reduces job opportunities for American citizens in a diminishing base. Highly infectious communicable diseases are also pouring through this uncontrolled border creating serious health problems.

This destructive utopian Mexican open border approach of even considering granting those who enter the US illegally through it. Entitlement to all benefits way beyond those of what Mexicans give to our citizens in Mexico destroys the value of an American citizenship. It is being promoted by the name callers in socialist circles known as the democrat party as well some republicans who use such terms as “nativist” promoting racial division .

What we should be doing is taking a very very hard look at our relationship with Mexico along with trade and its myriad miss treatment of Americans as 3rd class citizens and its claims on American territory . There is no doubt there are hundreds of complaints, if not thousands, from American citizens who have retired there. Along with travelers running to American consulates about conditions that are going unreported because of this Mexican policy

Why are we expected to allow Mexican citizens enter to our country illegally and offer them preferential treatment over our citizens allowing them to purchase land in their own name and voting privileges when an American cannot do either if they choose to retire in Mexico ?

Do you have any thoughts on the Cook County State’s Attorney Race? (GOP)

O’Brien (former Dem judge) seems like a prick but might be a more credible candidate. The other guy was the nominee last time and got slaughtered by Foxx.

I hope than Pfankouke will win. He has more experience, as a lawyer, especially as a prosecutor. I know that I spelled his name incorrectly.

I've heard O'Brien is a RAT plant and the only actual Republican running is Pfannkuche, who as you noted was the nominee last time and did lousy in the general.

"Patrick O'Brien" is a MUCH more ballot friendly name in Crook County, so ironically even if he IS an across-the-board liberal RAT and plans to throw the election in November, he'd probably get more votes in November than Pfannkuche would.

My gut is telling me Pfannkuche though, I can't trust a RAT judge as the "Republican" nominee.

So I guess that means those of us who live in Crook County get at least TWO primary contests on the GOP side: US Senator AND States Attorney.

I can't believe I'm still "undecided" when the election is in a week. Heck, I haven't even decided if I'm going to pull a RAT ballot and vote for Comrade Bernie to try and drag out the RAT primary fight longer and hurt creepy senile old Uncle Joe.

If I lived in Lipinski's district (I don't), might be worth it to stop Marie Newman. I'd probably be the only RAT primary voter to select Sanders-Lipinski on the ballot. Heh.

How are you guys leaning? I know Phil is back in Illinois but I think no longer in Crook County.

I see Lipinski has put on the gloves and gone negative against Newman. Good.

My wife, Nicole, got a job in Neenah, Wisconsin, so we moved to Oshkosh. If I lived in Cook Co., I’d vote for Pfannkuche.

The 8th Congressional District doesn’t have a Republican, on the ballot. If you know anyone, who lives there, please ask them to vote for a write-in candidate, Joe Hantsch. He’s pro-life, and he opposes amnesty for illegal aliens.

I waited to see what would happen last night, Bernie looks cooked, his only slim chance is crushing it at the debate and hoping for buyer’s remorse, he needs to win like 55% going forward to take it. Very hard. He’d have a better chance if the rats had winner take all (even though he’s been creamed so far) but with Biden guaranteed at least 40% of remaining delegates no matter what happens, you see how hard it is to catch up.

Also there are all these judicial vacancies on the rat side I have not researched, I don’t feel comfortable under-voting or making uninformed votes.

I plan on going to early vote within a couple hours. Republican. Send a message to support Trump. That nut Rocky DLF is running but I don’t think he’s running any delegates!

I’m am going with Hubbard for Senate, might as well nominate a Black woman, it’s a good narrative. Curran would be my second choice, the others are just not credible candidates.

I will probably be undecided until I’m in front of the screen but here’s why I’m thinking O’Brien for SA, I want to hold out the slim fantasy hope of beating Kim Foxx if she is renominated. Pfartachuck is a 0% chance guy (he says “Oh, I have a team this time!” but come on). If O’Brien, because he is a rat and because as you say his much better ballot name, has a 1% chance, I’d go with that.

Frankly I have no problem if reform democrats run as Republicans county wide if it means getting rid of really odious shit like Kim Foxx I’ll take what I can frugging get, with the hard left turn in the suburbs we can’t win County-wide anymore even against hated filth like Prickwankle. Remember what’s his name, Tony P who ran for Board Pres against Stroger Jr., the last race that was even close, he hit his benchmarks in the City, took what 12 wards or something? Did not in the suburbs, and that was 14 years ago.

Given that decent democrats are usually creamed in primaries they would be smart to do it too. We’re still a substantial frucking minority, I’d like to see our votes mean something even if that something isn’t electing actual Republicans. Cali Republicans could have elected a better Education Superintendent over a teacher’s union shill but they’ didn’t.

If you go through with it Bill you gotta hold your nose for Conway in the SA race even though Fioretti is the much better choice, he’s in single digits. Too bad neither of us is the 3rd district!!!!

In the California presidential primary, I ran for the American Independent Party. That race had five candidates, and I won with about 33%. Calif. has 93 counties, and I won about 80 of them.

Wow, you beat that lunatic weirdo Rocky De La Fuente and that f.ing democrat stooge Don Blankenship, who undermined our efforts to defeat Joe Manchin, congrats!

https://www.ourcampaigns.com/RaceDetail.html?RaceID=885527

In 2016 they nominated Trump, which would have created a problem if he had somehow won the state as there was no agreement on a single slate of electors.

In 2012 Tom Hoeffling (used to be a freeper too, banned I think) rode them to 8th place in Cali and nationally. Lots (relatively speaking) of people vote for the party because it has “independent” in it’s name, having no idea what it stands for.

This is a big deal, you could finish as high as 7th place nationally if there is no McMuffin RINO independent! (R/D/Liber/Grn/Const/ and probably Peace and Freedom though maybe you can beat them for 6th).
