Former Republican congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul claimed that Coronavirus may be a “big hoax” and wondered why Democrats are so suddenly quick to give President Donald Trump new powers.
“It is ironic to see the same Democrats who tried to impeach President Trump last month for abuse of power demanding that the Administration grab more power and authority in the name of fighting a virus that thus far has killed less than 100 Americans,” Paul wrote in a column for his site.

BTW, I wrote to his son Rand Paul, one of my Senators, asking him to look into the abuse of power by officials declaring "emergencies".
It is massively overblown, thanks to the media/Dems. The liberal mayors are closing entire cities bars, restaurants, etc which is seriously liable to create the next great depression.
Meanwhile, here’s an example. There are 94 cases in LA County Ca. There are 12M people (not counting a few illegals I”m sure). Approx .0008% rounded up, for the non math inclined that is les than a thousandth of a percent. In other words, should it increase by a multiplier of a thousand, 1% of the population would have it and 1-2% of those might be the death rate.
It’s not a hoax, but it’s exaggerated beyond belief.
Ron Paul also does things he doesn’t believe in just to make money.
Here is the big problem. A Republican President has set the precedent of essentially declaring marshal law for a crisis that scientists project MAY kill 2 million people in the US. Eventually a DemocRAT will be elected President and may issue a national emergency due to Global Warming. Imagine demanding enactment of the Green New Deal to save the planet. After all many “scientists” are projecting the death of billions. If saving a few million people justifies closing down industries, schools, and large gathering, imagine how much more can be justified to “save the planet. Its a recipe for tyranny.

I think we need to step aside and ask, Who Benefits”. We’ve had many viruses in this country without a full scale panic. Who is benefiting from the hysteria?

The hoax is not that the virus is here, The hoax is in the way it is being portrayed as a potential Armageddon.

The “martial law” you describe is being imposed by state and local governments ... though I suspect those could be ignored easily as well.
IMHO, this virus release was pre-planned. They thought she would never lose. The plan was to have her declare martial law.

Maybe you need to educate yourself with the scientific concept of “Social Distancing.” Here is a primer for you:

Not to normal working folks sitting at the kitchen table, they aren’t.
People concerned about getting to work, paying the bills, keeping the lights on, and putting food on the table are more worried about THOSE immediate issues.
