Kentucky lawmakers override Gov. Beshear's veto of voter ID measure

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky's Republican state lawmakers took advantage of their supermajority in both the House and Senate on Tuesday and voted to override Gov. Andy Beshear's vetoes of five bills.

They're also expected to vote to override his line-item vetoes of the budget either Tuesday night or Wednesday.

Advertisement By far, the most high-profile of the bills Beshear vetoed in its entirety was Senate Bill 2, which requires voters to present a photo ID at their polling location.

There was no fraud other than the usual whiskey bottles, and that fraud was rather easily overcome when Bevin spanked the duplicitous Conway but only after winning his primary by less than 100 votes.

Then Bevins as goobernor turned into "Big Daddy", insinuated that casino goers were 'suicidal', took every piece of MSM stinkbait like a dog on a bone ... he wanted out to go back to the private sector a year ago, fired his Amish Lt. Gov. specifically to scratch that itch, but didn't have the cojones to work out an appropriate 1-term exit plan because McConnell would have chosen his replacement.

Those 4K votes could have been scraped back a week before the election if he had just made neutral noises "let the voters decide" on casinos. Bevins suppressed his own turnout in one of the worst-run incumbent campaigns in this still-young 21st Century. Hillbillies want to drink and gamble on Saturday and repent on Sunday, and Big Daddy forgot that he was a guest, a carpetbagger with a telephone pole up his patoot.

Sort of a hollow victory as Beshear controls the bureaucracy and will see to airbrush implementation is effed up. But it’s a start.
