Sponsorship money is drying up amid "a very tough marketplace," he wrote, and donations could also take a hit as foundations and individuals "will be thinking hard about gifts as they watch the swings in the values of their own portfolios." NPR will need to cut costs substantially, he wrote. The network's ~snip

Good news for a change. The left's propaganda machine is unwinding. Even after NPR/PBS got $75 million.

Boo Freaking Hoo.

If we are fortunate it will result ina permanent shutdown.

Why President Trump allows their funding to continue is beyond me. They are an arm of an administrative department and subject to Presidential oversight (and removal).

They hate the USA but have been more than happy to accept our tax $.

“NPR will need to cut costs substantially, he wrote.”

Why not just spend your way out of your predicament? I thought that was the solution to everything?

You have to wonder about NPR and CNN’s financial troubles and if they will pivot and decide that maybe they need to appeal to a broader base of viewers? Nah, they like that ultra liberal anti-Republican bias too much.

I hope they die slow painful economic deaths. I really don't want to see any future stimulus money go to media outlets.

I loved NPR as a kid in the early 90s. Classical music, and I loved Marketplace + Earth & Sky. Even “All Things Considered” had some nice stories. The whole thing was easy on the ears for lack of a better way of putting it.

Then I discovered Limbaugh back in 1992...

Public radio just isnt necessary anymore. Certainly not to be funded with any tax dollars.

CPB (Corporation for Public Broadcasting) got the $75 million. NPR and PBS begs CPB for money in the form of programming grant proposals.

Like many things in government, once it gets a budget, it’s devilishly difficult trying to cut it out.

For all practical purposes CPB = NPR/PBS
