Previous studies on cold coronaviruses found that they could survive intact in a freezer for over 2 years.
I've been assuming that if I cook everything I eat, that would address any contamination with coronavirus.

I have become familiar with BHT over thirty years ago and have been using it off and on when some flu virus was on the lose, with good luck. What you see in this YouTube movie clip pretty well mirrors my experience. It may not be perfect, but neither are vaccines but it may help and fill in until someone comes up with the proper vaccine.

Has it been proven that swallowed virus particles will cause COVID-19? I would have thought stomach acids would destroy the virus and the only way to get it is by introduction into the respiratory tract.
Thats 198F for 15 mins...so it could live in a hamburger cooked medium well.
A good number of us have probably had it, gotten over it, and dont even know it.

My exposure is very well limited. My risks are my weekly masked trip to the grocery store. Checking my mail once a week. The kids bringing it in from visiting their mom, who is also in lock down. Or food.

My neighbor HAD it. He was sent home from the hospital to DIE because they ran out of respirators. Told him to come back “the next day”. He slept off the pain and simply wrote a will. No calls to family or friends. His fever broke on the 6th day AFTER sleeping for 5 days straight.
Simply showered and only went to the hospital 3 days later to get the test again and showed negative. Now that same hospital has been calling him nons-top to give plasma because he recovered from it with no medication.
Now why would you want to help the same hospital who wanted you dead?
There are a lot of ACE-2 receptors in the mouth and throat. And a number in the stomach as well.
I would suspect that cooking would kill off at least some of the virus particles.
The odds that it finds a receptor when you eat as opposed to making it to the stomach with the rest of the food is probably low.
Once in the stomach, I too would expect the acids to destroy the virus. But we have heard of cases of diarrhea as an early symptom. And I know that there are ACE-2 receptors in the stomach and small intestine. I'm not sure where in the stomach. Are they on the interior lining or not? I don't know.
I doubt anyone is doing tests on that and if they are, it would have to be animal tests.
Strong sunlight and high humidity does decompose the virus. Its not all doom and gloom
