Democrats Go All-In on Universal Basic Income
American Thinker.com ^ | April 25, 2020 | William Sullivan

In a piece at Market Watch, House Appropriations Committee member Tim Ryan (D-OH) writes about his plan to “fire up the economy” by introducing “the Emergency Money for the People Act, which will provide almost every American $2,000 a month until employment levels reach pre-coronavirus levels. Every American age 16 and older who earns less $130,000 per year will receive this money tax-free.” [sic]

Married couples, he writes, “can earn up to $260,000 per year and receive $4,000 per month,” along with an additional $500 a month for up to three children, capped at a whopping $5,500 per month for a family of five.

Ryan’s article is heavy on the selling points, but omits quite a bit of material information, not least of which is the gargantuan cost to taxpayers. But what’s most interesting may be his omission of the fact that the actual bill would allow these payments for at least six, but for no longer than twelve months.

Soaking everyone to pay for everyone. And there would be a lot of ignorant suburban housewives and their daughters (even though they might have become some sort of professional person in the working world) who would buy into that sort of nonsense. Surefire way of having the whole thing collapse in the same sort of way that the Soviet Union did.

The problem isn’t that Democrats want everyone to come up in wages, they want the US to come down to 3rd world country wages, And to do that, they have to smash the economy down. And by Shelter in Place and forcing millions out of work, they have done it.When everyone goes back to work, they will all make significantly lower wages, the universal wage

Sure. And when no one is working because they make more being unemployed, tax revenues drop to near zero and the government prints money to pay everyone and a loaf of bread costs $100 dollars. Sounds like a great pla.

Guess we have to remember the RATS only care about POWER and nothing else. It is so sad they are this way.

Just talking about this will lead to economic collapse. I have a solid source telling me that people who are working from home now do NOT want to go back to work. This is fomenting rebellion against even returning to the workplace (to deal with difficult co-workers and supervisors) or even going back to work at all. We are truly facing a crisis.

No doubt this is INCOME INEQUALITY they have always wanted, paid for by us the tax payers. Im sure like the stimulus checks there is a ceiling if you dont qualify and most wont you wont get. Illegals, voting blocks, low income families will reap this reward. Just like the Obama free phones, extra charge on everyone’s phone bill to pay for this, they will work along side other criminal enterprises to siphon this money from you and me SOME HOW SOME WAY BUT THEY WILL DO IT

Conservatives and the GOP globalist elite keep telling me that the “USA is a nation of consumers” right? So doesn’t a UBI dove tail right into that theory? What better way to implement that theory than to print fiat money and give it away to the masses. Then we can consume our way to prosperity!

The Trump stimulus should have been 10K each instead of doing that whole payroll nonsense, what a mess that is.

Would have cost less as well

But Boeing and the Kennedy Center would not have gotten anything and we can’t have that

Maybe a silver lining is the work place will no longer be a suck up beauty contest.

I could literally write a book about the problems caused by people in the workplace. Maybe I should....

Pre-Covid unemployment was around 3%.
It took us 20 years to get there.
20 years of 2000/month would destroy the USA forever.

I think the stimulus packages that Trump has already signed is more than enough to trigger the economic collapse the democrats have been praying for.

Everything would rise in price proportionately. It would be paradise for about two months. Then it would destroy everyone’s purchasing power. Unless you do price controls. Yeah...that’s the ticket.

Working from home may produce a more merit based system.
