Kentucky to lift ban on travel, small gatherings

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) said Thursday that the state would lift its ban on travel and small gatherings on May 22, the Friday before Memorial Day, as the state eases into reopening during the coronavirus pandemic.

“We realize that people are making plans for Memorial Day," Beshear said at a press conference.

“And I trust that we can do this right. That we can do this safely.”

Restaurants in the Blue Grass State will also be able to open on May 22, though they will only be able to operate at one-third their usual seating capacity.

Recently, Beshear outlined his plan for a phased reopening for Kentucky. In his plan, places of worship opened May 9, and some businesses including pet care stores, construction and vehicle dealerships opened on Monday.

Government offices and agencies are slated to open this coming Monday, May 18, followed by retail stores and funeral homes on Wednesday. Next Friday, the ban on small gatherings and travel will be lifted as well as restrictions on restaurants. Meaning, gatherings of 10 or fewer people will be allowed in the state.

“gatherings of 10 or fewer people will be allowed in the state.”

And the cops will spend their time counting people at barbecues and other parties. Criminals will rejoice.

Doesn’t Baby Face Beshear remind you of that little turd in grade school who smugly tattled on the other kids?

I have to drive through Kentucky next week to get up to Indiana to see my mom before she dies in a locked-down assisted living facility. I sure hope I don’t get stopped just for driving through the state.

His (Beshear) travel ban had been struck down once, so he changed a couple words and issued it again. It was an unconstitutional non-sense order, that they never even tried to enforce. Now he is throwing us some crumbs, by “pulling ahead” the end of the travel ban, and pulling ahead allowing up to 10 people in a group at once.

This is what happens when you try to micro-manage an economy and a society. His retail back to work guidelines are 7 pages long. Most of it common sense in todays world. But some crazy stuff, like employees are not allowed to share their phones during break time. LOL

He shut down churches pretty early on, but of course left liquor stores and abortion clinics open. Tells you all you need to know about Beshear.

There is a logical reason for the liquor stores - to prevent hospitals from getting a bunch of alcoholics in withdraw taking up hospital beds. But he put restrictions on medical treatment in for way too long and hospitals are laying off employees in droves - ultimately reducing our medical capacity.

Criminal government letting up a little. The new normal is the fact that government has found a way to further control God given freedoms and then blame the people if we dare to say ‘no’ to these controls.
