A former top US health official has told Congress the country could face its "darkest winter in modern history" because of the coronavirus.
Rick Bright led the government agency trying to develop a vaccine, but was removed from his post last month.
He has previously said he was ousted from the job for raising concern over a treatment being touted by President Donald Trump.
The US leader dismissed him as a "disgruntled" employee.

The “darkest winter in modern history.”
That’s what America’s former top vaccine official says could be coming in the US if the COVID-19 pandemic isn’t contained.
Testifying to Congress, Dr Rick Bright claims he was demoted from his role for raising concerns about the Federal Government’s handling of the crisis and its promotion of unproven drugs to treat the virus.
And he says thousands of lives have been needlessly lost because of the slow response.

He testified but not under oath?

Mine broke.
Says he was removed for opposing HQL, when at the time he was pushing for a Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for it. The real reason he was fired:
"“The move was more than a year in the making — Bright had clashed with department leaders about his decisions and the scope of his authority — but came abruptly, said five current and former HHS officials,” Politico reported."
He tried to go beyond his bosses who had enough and eventually fired him. Not getting along with one boss is bad enough, not getting along with several simultaneously is a guaranteed ticket out the door.

Because someone will die from the stay indoors order, whether it’s from suicide or stress or whatever.
People die. Once they’re born they get that disease.
