In the great old (black & white) movie "Knute Rockne, All-American" there was a scene in which one of the priests who was a Notre Dame administrator was discussing how football was too rough a game, and should be replaced with hockey. Rockne replied that he wouldn't want to put a stick in the hands of an Irishman!

I think it all depends on the area. Some trails here in TN, especially in the Smokey's there can be quite a bit of diversity. Not so much on longer trails or smaller parks though. Personally, I could care less; but I do find many of the 'trail runners' to be an annoying lot.
Easy. Hiking is more racist by far! There is much more gear you need to buy. And since black people have less money, that makes it racist. Also, black folk are more likely to live farther away from hiking places. The distance is like anti social distancing.
Makes a solid case for jogging racism. He was killed because he was racially appropriating jogging? Did the murderers steal his air Jordan jogging hi tops??
LOL! But most of the people that shop REI are there for the look, not actually doing anything with it. Just did a quick hike to Charlie's Bunion this weekend (8mile round-trip), and people were gasping for air less than a mile into it.
