If a private company censors speech on its platform at the bidding of a government authority, would *that* be a violation of the First Amendment?

Exactly. There is no way this is not deemed a STate Action. Any of the old arguments that Facebook can do anything it wants as a private company are completely and legally irrelevant in this scenario.
