BS. They are here to work. If there was no lucrative work, they'd go back (self-deport). They are "unemployed" because their jobs and "salaries" are under-the-table and therefore under the government radar for employment sadistics... err, I mean statistics.
They are generally hard workers and determined.
Where there may be a lazy component of illegal aliens due to our welfare state, a large portion are determined and conscientious workers that were the creme-de-la-creme of their native country who had the wherewithal to learn about foreign opportunities and risk all to leave. It’s a real loss for their host country, and keeps the cycle going of S-hole turd-world, where the best leave, and the remaining struggle, robbed of the best minds.

The report is about legal immigrants.
The number of illegal immigrants who file for unemployment is presumably quite small.
First, most illegal immigrants work for outlaw employers who do not pay into state and federal social service agencies.
Second, most illegals keep a low profile. They do not brazenly walk into welfare offices and flash their counterfeit ID and Social Security card unless they are desperate.
This report is about LEGAL immigrants.
I completely agreed with everything you stated, up until this point.
I live in the inner city, in an area well invaded by illegals. The need for any ID or SS# is neither required, or asked for. Seeing an illiterate, illegal, with two kids, all members of the family having iPhone 11s, paying for ice cream, frozen dinners, etc. with Access cards is a plague.
Rent subsidies, LiHEAP, and every other social subsidization programs are snapped up as soon as they get off the Border Patrol sponsored bus rides.

Legal immigrants use government welfare at a rate that is almost three times higher than white native born Americans.
If you win the “Green Card lottery,” do you have to get a job when you come to the US, or are you automatically enrolled in unemployment?
Illegal immigrants who claim asylum or wish to challenge their illegal status in court can obtain temporary work permits, temporary health care, temporary food stamps, etc.
If your court case lasts for years, so do your benefits.
When I talk about illegal workers, I mean the mostly single men who jump the border because they have “final removal” court orders.
If they get caught, most will be sent straight back to their home country or get incarcerated in the USA.

Most legal immigrants to the USA are shepherded through the “moving in” process by well paid taxpayer funded religious organizations.
The religious organizations are usually the ones that dispense emergency cash directly to immigrant adult males.
Immigrant children and immigrant mothers who have Green Cards are eligible for every federal and state welfare program that American citizens are eligible for.

The majority don't bother to claim asylum, and those who do, skip their court dates at a remarkable level. Most just cross on their own, but avail themselves of our generous welfare benefits, meant for American Citizens.
