Amazon blisters Joe Biden in scathing response after he tells company to 'pay its fair share'

'Assume your complaint is w/ the tax code, not Amazon'

Amazon fired back at Joe Biden on Friday after presumptive Democratic presidential nominee told the company it needs "to pay its fair share" in taxes.

The former vice president not only declared that Amazon must "pay its fair share," but he claimed the company pays less in taxes than firefighters and teachers.

"I've said it before, and I'll say it again: No company pulling in billions of dollars in profits should pay a lower tax rate than firefighters and teachers. It's time for Amazon to pay its fair share," Biden said.

However, Biden's claims are not congruent with the truth.

Amazon — which has become a proverbial punching bag for the Democratic Party while arguing for increased taxes — published its 2019 tax profile in January amid increased scrutiny from Democrats.

The data showed that Amazon collected and paid more than $10 billion in taxes last year, which included:

More than $1 billion in federal income tax expense More than $2.4 billion in other federal taxes, like payroll tax and customs duties (tariffs) More than $1.6 billion in state and local taxes Amazon also collected and remitted nearly $9 billion in sales and use taxes Amazon fired back those facts in response to Biden's criticism.

".@JoeBiden We pay every cent owed. You spent 3 decades in the Senate & know that Congress wrote these tax laws to encourage companies to invest in the US economy. We have. 500k jobs w/ a min wage of $15/hr across 40 states," the company wrote on Twitter.

"Assume your complaint is w/ the tax code, not Amazon," the company added.

Corporations (Amazon) pay a different tax rate than individuals (firefighters and teachers). Taxes are calculated entirely differently. Obviously the corrupt media is never going to point this out to the public. It can do nothing but protect their anointed one from the consequences of his stupidity.

Typical Democrat mantra: Anyone or anybody that has money NEVER pays their “fair share”. Only ignorant fools believe that hype, But Biden is playing to that crowd. As Stalin once called them (or was it Lenin?): Useful Idiots. How insulting. And this jackass wants to be POTUS. God Help us all.

What Crazy Joe meant was that his campaign hasn’t seen Amazon’s donation check yet.

"Fingers" Biden is still fascinated that products are being shipped out of the Amazon. He didn't think it was that developed yet.

It was Lenin. But insulting doesn't make it less true.

Any tax a corporation pays is passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices. democrats don’t understand this and never have. corporate taxes should be set to zero, income taxes should be set to zero in perpetuity, property taxes should be set to zero in perpetuity, and all taxation should come in the form of a consumption tax on purchases. Certain purchases should be tax exempt - milk, bread, chicken, hamburger, etc. along with rent (although the cost of rent will be raised to accommodate the taxes the landlord pays on the purchase of the property.) Gasoline and other energy should not be taxed in themselves, but the delivery (transmission) should be to pay for upkeep and advancement of services into new areas.

Bezos loves dopes like Biden. He spent 50 years in Washington doing exactly what corporate America told him to do.

Note that Biden cites teachers and firefighters. Their unions are two of the senile one’s biggest supporters and funnel millions into his campaign; the idea here is that it will flow back from the taxpayer if Al Zheimers is elected. The president of the national firefighters union is some guy appropriately named Harold Shitberger.

Oh, they know and understand it quite well. They know they can grab more of your money under the mask of another entity-the “greedy corporation”....thinking you’re too stupid to figure it out.

"Corporate America" is not a single, monolithic entity. It does not speak with one voice.

It consists of many competing elements.

Bezos might come around. This thing against Biden, and he’s already fighting the “per head” tax by Seattle’s marxist city council. IDRC, but I think they wanted $500 per employee, he got it to $150. But he’s also moving a lot of his stuff across the lake to another city in response.

It would be interesting to see what all of the Amazon employees pay in taxes too.

Heck - if Inslee keeps this shut-down going much longer, Amazon might be one of the few companies that still has employees paying taxes.
