Biden set to make risky economic argument against Trump
The Hill ^ | 05 25 2020 | Amie Parnes

Joe Biden is taking on President Trump over the economy.

The former vice president’s campaign believes he has an opening with voters on an issue that has been a strength of Trump's given the economic harm caused by the coronavirus pandemic, which has locked down businesses and led to skyrocketing unemployment.

They plan to argue that Trump handled the pandemic poorly, is mishandling the economy, and that their candidate is the better leader to shepherd the country to a recovery.

“No one thinks the economy is in a good place right now,” said one Democratic strategist who supports Biden. “Trump got us here. And Biden can make the case that he’s the one who can lead us out of here.”

Allies say the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee will lean on his record in 2009, when he was a part of the Obama administration handling the recovery from the last big recession.

The decade since that recession included tremendous growth, though the Obama administration also came under heavy criticism from the right and the left for its handling of the issue, raising questions over how effectively the experience can be used to buttress Biden.

Biden signaled his focus on the economy with an interview Friday on CNBC.

His message was focused on the idea that the government’s first job must be handling the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

“The way to fix the economy is to get the public health response correct,” he said.

I don't know how they believe they can make this argument when President Trump is the one who wants to end the lock down and re-open America for business.

Joe hasn’t done anything. His entire argument is “I would have done better.”

Higher Taxes and more gov’t interference is going to help how?

Maybe renowned economist Paul Robin Krugman can explain...

I don’t know that anyone is interested in hearing 50 references to “the thing” and fixing it with “the thing”.

A gibbering idiot in the basement will lead us to economic recovery. Exceptional fantasy drivel from the scummy Hill.

“The way to fix the economy is to get the public health response correct,” he said.

That’s true as far as it goes. The public health response has been based on mass hysteria in reaction to a plandemic. This thing has mostly been an insane hoax. We are almost to the low end of where the projections said we would be six weeks ago. Trump has entertained this thing for too long as it is. Shutting things down for a couple of weeks made sense. It might be too late as it is to avert a collapse, but Trump can set the stage for a revival or avoid the collapse, if possible.

His entire argument is “I would have done better TO PROTECT AMERICA AGAINST THE SPANISH FLU THAN TRUMP.”

Fixed it.

They’re nuts.

Obama treated the economy like a dishonest mechanic treats a malfunctioning car...
He kept it in the shop for 8 years...

“No one thinks the economy is in a good place right now,” said one Democratic strategist who supports Biden

The economy was doing just fine until the media waged an all out war on sanity. The Covid19 b.s. was sold as Armageddon when in fact it has turned out to be nothing more than a particularly bad flu season. The models were rigged just like the Global Warming GIGO models. The test of time proved them all wrong. The DNC grabbed hold of it and will not let it go. The RAT governors refuse to relax the idiotic economic and life style sanctions imposed the citizenry they sent into severe panic. They know they finally found a scam that worked after all their previous scams fell flat on their faces. If things get back to normal in the next couple of months they know they have no chance to beat Trump in November so they are desperately trying to keep their charade going.

Sleepy Joe Biden is reliving his days as vice president to Barack Obumer. He'll fade like a cheap carpet.

The obvious direction is this: It doesn’t matter who is in charge. Once the economy is opened back up the ECONOMY will meter its own recovery.
So, whoever is in office...whether Biden or Trump...will ‘benefit’ from the only possible outcome of lifting the COVID-19 scamdemic.

If only the Governors had followed the same protocol and addressed each area and its needs individually.
