More than 500 doctors have added their names to a letter to President Trump urging him to end the lockdown, warning that it will cause more death than the coronavirus itself.
In the letter, sent last week, doctors described the lockdown as a mass casualty incident.
We are alarmed at what appears to be the lack of consideration for the future health of our patients. The downstream health effects of deteriorating a level are being massively under-estimated and under-reported. This is an order of magnitude error, it states.
Written by Simone Gold, a California emergency medical specialist, and further signed by hundreds of doctors, the letter adds The millions of casualties of a continued shutdown will be hiding in plain sight, but they will be called alcoholism, homelessness, suicide, heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure.
In youths it will be called financial instability, unemployment, despair, drug addiction, unplanned pregnancies, poverty, and abuse, the letter further urges.
It notes that Suicide hotline phone calls have increased 600%, while sales of alcohol have increased 300% to 600%.
Because the harm is diffuse, there are those that hold it does not exist. We, the undersigned, know otherwise, the letter concludes.
While globalists have urged that lockdowns need to continue, medical and economic experts across the board in multiple countries are warning that the loss of life will be much greater than that caused directly by the virus itself, if lockdowns are not scrapped.
A leaked study from inside the German Ministry of the Interior has found that the impact of the countrys lockdown could end up killing more people than the coronavirus due to victims of other serious illnesses not receiving treatment.
A Guardian analysis has found that there have been thousands of excess deaths of people at home in the UK due to the lockdown.
Professor Richard Sullivan also warned that there will be more excess cancer deaths in the UK than total coronavirus deaths due to peoples access to screenings and treatment being restricted as a result of the lockdown. Physicians in the US are issuing the same warnings over cancer screening.
Sullivans comments were echoed by Peter Nilsson, a professor of internal medicine and epidemiology at Lund University, who said, Its so important to understand that the deaths of COVID-19 will be far less than the deaths caused by societal lockdown when the economy is ruined.
In addition, new figures from the UKs Office of National Statistics show that the number of deaths from flu and pneumonia is three times higher than the total number of coronavirus deaths this year.
A data analyst consortium in South Africa asserts that the economic consequences of the countrys lockdown will lead to 29 times more people dying than the coronavirus itself.
Experts have also warned that there will be 1.4 million deaths from untreated TB infections due to the lockdown.
I submit that the Satanically Inspired HCQ lockdown by liberal states has caused significant needless casualties
Is there some federal lockdown I dont know about?
The president of the United States, especially this one, can have a tremendous influence on his followers.
I do believe he’s the reason some states opened and are opening quite a bit earlier than they were going to
And I love it when he incites the people to go against the governors :-)
I’m saving a fortune on dates, I can get my errands done so fast because there’s no traffic, and I got some $1,200 check in my bank account for no reason.
That being said I have had depression on and off in my life and some days I spiral so low. Maybe more than I have in 35 years.
and it wouldn’t matter if it wasn’t taking any toll on me.
it’s taking a tremendous toll on my mother and brothers and sisters and family and the people on Free Republic and that’s a lot more important than any one individual.
The problems these doctors are citing for increased deaths have only just begun IMO. If unemployment and the economy in general don’t get back on track soon it will get exponentially worse.
There is the real problem, FRiend. This is not just messing you up, it’s not just messing me up it’s messing up 350 million Americans all at once.
I havent heard of the Summit News. Im also having trouble printing the story. Is this article credible?
“Hiding in plain sight”...
In other words: the media will be able to get people to look elsewhere. If the media really tries hard.
Which they will.
If you doubt Summit News, maybe you might want to read the same news from other sources. see here:
Thanks to the Lord for these doctors. Finally, some sanity arrives (well, the President has been sane all along).
What a setup and don’t take the bait POTUS.
They are part of a group trying to pin this back on you.
You have to paint in broad strokes and vivid colors to demonstrate the governors pushed this Shiite way to effin far.
They own it

“I’m going to put it very simply: the president of the United States has the authority to do what the president has the authority to do, which is very powerful. The president of the United States calls the shots,” Trump said Monday evening, pressed on his claim during a news briefing at the White House.
He continued: “When somebodys the president of the U.S., the authority is total, and thats the way its gotta be.”
But experts and the Constitution say Trump is wrong. The authority to require businesses to close in a public health crisis is what is a known as a “police power,” and it is reserved by the Constitution to the states, not to the federal government.
(Hint: He already knows and made you responsible letting you take the reigns you smartly said are yours.
It’s all you baby)
Youre gonna call your own shots, Trump tells governors about guidelines to reopen states
(They said “Okay! It was our purview and power in the 1st place”)
Newsom, a Democrat, has declared that California will chart its own course, relying less on the White House and leveraging its considerable economic power as a nation-state.
Governors and mayors have had to make the tough decisions that Washington has refused to make in terms of helping to manage the lives of the people we represent, Michael Hancock, the mayor of Denver, said in an interview Friday. Though his office, like most mayoralties, is nonpartisan, Hancock is a Democrat.
It wasnt the president who decided to shut cities, schools, businesses down, he added. And it wont be his call to get everyone back to work in terms of our states and our cities.
(Finally! Someone who will take responsibility and not toss the hot potato!)
Feel the burn....
Don’t fall for it...
They are trying to paint him as responsible and Trump not only didn’t shut the states down but, agreed they alone would open on their time...
It’ a setup...
“Is there some federal lockdown I dont know about?”
Exactly! They should be sending these letters to the Governors around the country, not to the Pres.
Here is the results of a study that reveals which public situations pose the greater risk for infection with the virus:
Didnt help that he spit all over Kemp for opening Georgia. He could also declare an end to the National Emergency, puting more pressure on shutdown places.
I see a lot of “will be” but not a lot of hard data.
There is a difference between looking at current and past data and making a prediction on what the data will look like in the future, and just saying something will happen “for reasons.”
Unfortunately, the CDC has changed its website, so the illness and death data is no longer convenient to access. This means that I am having difficulty actually looking at the causes and rates of death and comparing them to the situation a year ago.
