Paul Feig, the director and co-writer of the 2016 “Ghostbusters” reboot, noted in a recent interview about the film that he believes the “anti-Hillary movement” played a big role in the movie’s negative perception.

The 57-year-old director’s announcement in 2015 that he would reboot the beloved comedy franchise with an all-female cast led by Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones drew a slew of criticism from fans of the original movies. The film ultimately underperformed at the box office, only earning $229.1 million worldwide.

Speaking in an interview on Jess Cagle’s SiriusXM show, Feig explained that he was shocked by the backlash and blames its poor reception on the political climate of the year it came out.

Stop digging! It was an awful movie with lousy acting.

Own up, and move on.

It was also hindered by the only good male character being the funeral director.

There were plenty of Hillary fanbois that could have gone to see it, and give it at least decent box office.

The popularity of ghostbusters was mostly because it had at least three of the best sketch comedians/writers of the last generation. I don’t care whether the the remake starred men or women, it was never going to come close to living up to expectations.

I disagree. Stop remaking movies that don’t need to be remade.

I am sure there are thousands of good stories out there. Why no make something new?

Lefty progressives can never stop deflecting blame for the consequences of their own decisions. American audiences are tired of female social justice warriors shoving their crap propaganda down our throats and expecting us to waste our good money on it.

The point of any business is to make a product that people want to pay for and they forgot that fundamental rule and made a crap movie that nobody wanted to see.

I liked the originals, and did not see the female reboot.

However, now that this alleged anti-woman political backlash is gone, how is that movie doing with DVD rentals, DVD sales, internet streaming views, etc???

If it did poorly in the theaters, but was still such a great movie if viewed away from a political year, wouldn’t we see big viewing of that movie nowadays, if it was so good to start with?????

It sounds like the movie was lousy, in spite of the alleged inspirational all woman casting. But those associated with the movie aren’t allowed to say so. They have to blame other outside factors for the unpopularity of the movie.

This reminds me a bit of how years into his term in office, Obama and his henchmen blamed leftover problems from the Bush years for his problems.

“Ghostbusters” is supposed to be funny.

“Some moron brought a cougar to a party and it went berserk”
“But if I’m right, and we can stop this thing...Lenny...YOU will have saved the lives of millions of registered voters”

The reboot was as funny as stale bread.

People say I’m a lousy director who made a bad movie and lost a lot of money, but I’m really a heroic warrior for the holy leftist cause! Heck, I’m a martyr!

The new one looks like junk, too. Get the Stranger Things kid, make a Stranger Things Ghostbusters, and strip out all the humor. Keep it.

Hindered by poor writing, poor visual concept, hindered by only having one genuinely funny woman in the cast. can you tell me, who is the female Bill Murray?

I haven’t seen it but the typical Hollywood and where ever TV ads are made is a strange new world.

The smaller the girl, the more likely she is able to whip 3 special forces type men.

50% of the world is Black.

60% of females are Lesbians

About half of all couples are inter-racial.

All bad guys are White.

All Christians are evil except for the ones who are Lesbians, female pastors, not really believers etc.

A good boyfriend is one who pays for her abortion.

All teenagers, engage in sex, drink, do drugs etc.

The only times girls can’t whip guys is when the guys are rapists.

95% of prisoners are White.

All Fathers are stupid.

All little kids are wisecracking smart asses.

It could go on and on.

Maybe it would have been successful if they had cast with all transsexuals with Spanish/Mexican/Puerto Ricans/Cubans/Jews and middle-eastern backgrounds, and a couple of Chinese. And a Trump baby air balloon as the main ghost.

Because I am not a Bigot or misogynist I do not choose my movies by race or sex. I tend to avoid movies that are advertising based on their genitals or how they use them instead of this old fashioned thing called a plot.
