Confronted with an apparent double standard in its lack of fact-check warnings on tweets by a Chinese government spokesman versus the hardline it took with President Trump this week, Twitter on Wednesday added notations to the postings, which falsely accused the US government of causing the coronavirus pandemic.
The social media companys decision follows its flagging of a pair of tweets from Trump that said mail-in ballots are vulnerable to fraud. That decision outraged Trump and called into question the political bias of the man in charge of fact checking for the social media giant.

Twitter is soooo screwed. They’ve now put themselves in the position of being political censors. They will rip themselves apart.
TOO LITTLE, TOO FN LATE! FUTWITTER!
Like NYT giving Pat Buchanan an Op Ed.
HA ha!!!
Damned Commie globalist despots
We now need to bombard them with complaints and documentation every single time someone on Twitter says anything at all about Trump and Russia, or any of the hundreds of other outright lies they’ve perpetrated. Take Cloward-Piven to their backsides, and don’t ever, ever let up.
Great tagline. Twitter - a ChiCom Company!
This is going to be pretty fire works, Twitter without a country, currency, military, or moral right out naked in front of everyone.... How embarrassing
I have been successful going after lefties on Twitter myself.
Twitter has no business trying to be arbiters of facts and untruths, especially when it comes to political issues. That’s a big mistake.
They should just let people post what they want within their guidelines and let the tweeters fact check each other all they want.
Re: Your tagline; How dare you impugn the intelligence and integrity of 8th graders.
If it took an outcry to do it, then it wasn’t part of the original plan.
None of these companies have bought anything but trouble by all of this censorship and editorializing. Back in 2015 you could read and see almost anything on those sites, and no one died from it. All they’ve done is radicalize virtually everything.
