“Stay out of my life!”

How exactly is this EO changing your life?

Social Media giants are like Railroads running
on a single national RR track network (the Internet/Telecom Spectrum) which the government licenses and regulates for the good of its citizens
The track, rails, bridges and tunnels are the components
operated by the multitude of networking infrastructure service providers but the paths (right of way) cannot be impeded
Each RR gets subsidies, or legal protections worth millions
(The platform vs publisher protection)
Each RR is unique and offers utility (an efficient monopoly)
that took decades and Capital to develop applications that an
individual or group of users can’t easily replicate

When Twitter or Google or FB or Reddit ban or limit you or your
access for your opinions it is as surely as if a RR line banned you
From travel on the basis of color race or creed. When they do that,
and also opine (“Fact Check”) they void the legal conditions they
agreed to operate under. Furthermore when they promote specific
political views and candidates or limit /ban/ denigrate the opposing view
they are providing in kind political support

It’s not like shopping at Safeway and going
to Trader Joe’s instead. It’s like living in a town
that has one market, one home improvement, one auto
store and one pharmacy. There may be some
overlap but each has a monopoly position and you need most or
all
Utilities are efficient monopolies that provide
essential service “dial tone” but when Twitter
bans / blocks you it’s like the phone co. Saying you can’t
speak about such and such a topic

This affects public companies.

Is Rush a “public company?”

You already believe private companies have more flexibility with customers.

Should public companies, like airlines, be able to ban non-violent Republicans from their planes?

There is not a single “Unconstitutional” problem with any of that EO.

What orifice is your head up? The Communication Decency Act hasn’t been deemed “Unconstitutional,” ever.

Have you actually READ the 1st Amendment???

The ONLY thing that can violate the 1st Amendment is the federal government, namely CONGRESS.

MaBell was a utility that distributed all incoming communication. They did not seek to censor content. Content could only be intercepted by court order.
Social Media is a publisher not a utility.

I miss Ma Bell. Service was better then. Now there are too many flim-flam companies out there.

Of course, if the Constitution doesn’t forbid it, then of course it’s OK for the feds, right?

Which orifice is your pointy head up?

Exactly!
I know it isn’t true but he seems more outraged at his deleted tweet than the country burning.

I’m sorry I just feel like our military and cops are so emasculated right now it’s embarrasing! I know the administration can walk and chew gum and all that but he seems to be only chewing gum right and NOT MOVING!

How the Hell are things so dire that the president gets moved to the underground bunker while crap around him literally burns and NOTHING IS BEING DONE?

Oh yea right. They’re mobilizing. It takes time.

Would it take this long to mobilize if we were attacked by an outside enemy?

Im sorry I’m pissed. Because I shouldn’t have to shoot the enemy on my porch while our military stands around as props with their guns emptied!

I am not happy about this. Let the market control the media.

These companies didn’t get big from “the market” - they got big through government preferences. Perfectly OK to take those away - and let them face the consequences of the real market.

"This is not the road to making America great again. This is the road to destroying America and the road to ruin."

Go outside and watch the smoke from downtown. Cops are taking a knee for the rioters.

The Train has left the station.

Would you like President Trump to post a military contingent in front of your front door? Would that, done across the country, make you happy?

Well, it can’t be done and mayors and governors are fully responsible for the chaos in every city that has it.

Go pout somewhere else.

Dont be a jerk.

We are being attacked from within.

The Insurrection Act of 1807.

How is this different than if ISIS attacked?

Would we sit back and let them have their way?
