200,000 Copies of John Bolton’s Book Already Shipped to Booksellers: Attorneys

John Bolton doesn’t have the power to stop the 200,000 copies of his book that have been shipped to booksellers, his attorneys said in the former national security adviser’s first legal response to a government lawsuit.

“The Government cannot plausibly argue that Ambassador Bolton has power to stop the Amazon delivery trucks in America, unshelve the copies in Europe, commandeer the copies in Canada, and repossess the copies sent to reviewers or in the possession of major newspapers,” Bolton’s lawyers wrote in a court filing late Thursday.

Simon & Schuster CEO Jonathan Karp said in a court declaration that once Bolton submitted the final version of the manuscript earlier this year, he lost any authority or ability he had to prevent or delay the book’s publication, Bolton’s lawyers noted.

The Trump administration on Tuesday sued to try to block Bolton’s book from being published, arguing it contains classified information and would compromise national security if released.

Bolton’s high-level position granted him access to some of the most sensitive information that exists in the U.S. government, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Washington said in the suit.

Just hours before a hearing on the matter, Bolton’s legal team filed a 175-response, claiming the government was trying to exercise power over Bolton’s First Amendment rights.

Tucker Carlson had this one right. He was beating the drum for a long time telling President Trump to get rid of Bolton before Bolton managed to get us into a war.

It’s been standard procedure for years that people like Bolton need to have their books approved by the government prior to publication. I was under the impression that this had occurred. Now it appears that approval has not been given. But, if the author and publishing house act really fast, they can get the stuff out the door and don’t need no stinkin’ approval.

This is all weird.

If Bolton didn't follow the law/regulations regarding submitting his book for publication it doesn't matter what the publishers did or say.
Bolton is responsible for following the law and can be prosecuted if he broke the law/regulations.

Didn't Bolton's huge "bombshell" (which was more of a cap gun) already leak? That Bolton claimed President Trump asked the Chinese premier for campaign help in an open meeting with about 20 attendees, yet nobody else has any recollection of it and several have flat out said it didn't happen.

Even the liberal media got less than a news cycle out of the story before they dropped it like a hot potato.

The idea has always been to print a couple million copies, that will be paid for by someone like Google.
The copies are "donated" to the Democrats, as an educational tax deduction, and stashed in a container, for later pulping.
The publisher pays royalties to the "author", really a laundered bribe, the "author" is an instant "best selling authority".
The Leftist corporation gets another deduction for environmental activism for grinding up the books.

It's all good.

Anything salacious will get leaked and hashed out in the press.

By leaking so much from an author generally reviled by everyone, instead of tickling up sales, they limit the sales.

Wen the neverTrumpers heard it was about trashing the President they pre-bought it. Just like the people that pre-bought “her lies.”
