The landmark CNN Center building in downtown Atlanta may soon have a new owner, though CNN employees will remain there for at least a few more years.

AT&T, which owns CNN as a result of its 2018 acquisition of Time Warner, has either already agreed to sell or plans to sell the CNN Center, according to an internal company memo sent on Monday. WarnerMedia, the subsidiary of AT&T that operates CNN, will lease back the building from its new owners for at least five years.

Commercial real estate is going to take a giant hit because businesses are reevaluating expensive office leases if their employees can work from home anyways.

I would offer them $5 for it and that is my final offer

When a company is facing financial problems, selling the real estate and leasing it back is step one to bankruptcy

Radio Shack
GM

Did the same thing

MGM in Vegas did the same thing with some of its casinos... flexibility, increased liquidity....

ATT is in financial trouble in a very competitive industry, the CNN acquisiton made no sense.

I have not watched CNN since the mid-to-late Nineties, and will be getting rid of AT&T shortly due to their political attitude.

May they go belly up.

Hasn’t it been the plan for years to divide the country by race? The Southeast is gonna be ruled by blacks. The Southwest is for La Raza. And I don’t know the rest of the plan.

Not really. Big companies have been doing this for many years.

MGM wasted their money building their very worst casino in Springfield, MA.

All executives associated with that decision need to be fired—stat.
