Comrades, the ministry of COVID compliance in New York has now been given permission to issue subpoenas requiring the general public to comply with COVID compliance contact tracers. Any New Yorker who refuses to answer the interrogation questions by the COVID compliance police is now subject to arrest.
You do not have the right to remain silent, and everything you say will be guaranteed to be used against you as the state takes control over your life.
The process of “Contact Tracing” permits the state authority to identify the travel, contacts and associated risks presented by anyone who tests positive for the COVID-19 virus.

This isn’t the plague. It’s the flu. And it’s not a particularly dangerous one unless you are over 80 and already in a retirement home.
And this whole “must comply” thing is a farce. What actual law has the person broken. All laws have a number associated with them.
But at the same time the contact tracers can’t ask about attendance at one of the recent “mostly peaceful” riots. Feh! If the government takes politics over health then I will too.
Agreed. Why don’t we do this with stomach viruses? Why don’t we have a test for the norovirus and make people test negative before they go on cruise ships? I think I’d rather have covid than Noro. I’d have a chance of a lesser case with covid.
Why all this control for a virus that is not dissimilar from any influenza virus in its sickness and death rate? Why now?

Most states have quarantine statutes specifically written to deal with epidemics, and they include due process guarantees including the right to a hearing and even the right to appointed counsel.
I volunteered to be on the appointed counsel list here in Texas. But the Texas quarantine statute has, as far as I can tell, never been invoked during the Covid epidemic.
Instead, as far as I can tell, governors and local executives have simply circumvented those laws and the protections contained in those laws by invoking broad, unchecked powers contained emergency or disaster response statutes. And, in most states whose laws I have read, the governor can keep those powers indefinitely, and they can only be cut off by an affirmative action of the legislature (which the governor can veto).
Emergency powers laws desperately need to be reformed. Legislatures need to amend them to narrow their scope and to impose an automatic expiration date on any emergency executive powers. Governors should have to go to the legislature to extend their powers.
It has been almost 4 months now. This is no longer an “emergency” warranting unilateral executive action. If laws need to be passed, there has been plenty of time for state legislatures to have been called into emergency session. At this point, any “emergency” powers are just dictatorial powers.
A positive test now results in a new class of citizen, considered of such a significant risk that their constitutional rights are suspended. Thus, it is in the interest of state security for the state to have legal authority to compel compliance with questioning.

Contact tracing makes perfect sense when a virus is sexually transmitted. People damn well know from whom they may have caught it, and following that trail is something public health has done for many years.
For an airborne virus it’s folly.
Oh yeah. I went to the Courthouse. I went to City Hall. I attended the BLM protest. I went to the DMV. I went to the NY Times offices. Oh yeah, and I visited the capitol and the governors mansion.
I think that is everything.
