WATCH: Checking in on Trump's border wall

Building the wall was a top promise of the Trump campaign along with getting Mexico to pay for it. Well, Mexico hasn’t paid but some wall has been built with more progress made since summer after the Supreme Court ruled President Trump and use military funds. For a reality check on the wall we head to the Tucson Sector in Arizona, covering 262 border miles, and one of the busiest for illegal immigrants and drugs.

Mexico has not directly made payments on the wall, but the elimination of NAFTA is certainly an indirect payment.

The article is not that current (almost eight months old). They say 75 miles of border wall wall was complete at that time, but over 150 more have been finished since then.

It is nice to see some fair coverage though.

One thing that I found encouraging, is that even then, they were using the 450 mile completed number, by the end of the first term. The Administration is still reporting that same number, eight months later. So construction is still on track to pick up speed, through the rest of this year.

We are already running at around a mile per day total across all of the crews working.

The gist of the NAFTA replacement (USMCA), is to take away business from China, and split it.

China has already payed the USA over $60 billion in new tariffs, and around $15 billion in total has been designated for the wall.

China got stuck with Mexico’s bill.

I still think a 10% tax on us remittances to Mexico would easily pay for the wall.

More than 25 billion a year is sent back o Mexico each year from the US.

With USMCA ready to roll the maquilladoros should be expanding on the Mexican side, like Juarez. Are there rail lines coming across the border.

The other so called journalists are "A Bunch of Giant Sixth Grade Brain Nasty Journalists" and these are always wrong.

Her video footage showed the mexicans still tunneling underneath the new wall and getting through. The night vision footage of the mexican swarms escaping through the fence is absolutely disgusting. I think after Biden is elected, we’ll see mobs of leftists tear down what remains of the wall.

“Security is more important than trade,” Trump said Tuesday afternoon when asked by reporters if he was concerned about the hit to the U.S. economy. Roughly 37 percent of the imported parts used on U.S.-made vehicles are imported from Mexico, including critical pieces like the wiring harnesses used on 70 percent of all vehicles assembled in the States.
This got Mexico’s attention, and the auto giants as well. Chrysler for one has moved smartly to ensure its parts would be available in the USA, and the Ram truck is made exclusively here.
