I agree. If Trump’s taxes were a something burger we’d already know by the leaks.
When his tax returns are released to any court, they will be leaked to everyone.
Taxes tell you nothing. You couldn’t figure out what he owes to whom based on tax returns. Trump is fighting this on principal.
Demand for his Taxes are how Biden gets out of any debates.
They know that once anyone gets their hands on these records, they will be immediately leaked to the media/dem complex, and the leaker(s) will not be punished but instead praised.

Access to the actual returns is very restricted, even within the IRS. Agents usually work with a transcript or data summary. One of the first thing they ask me for in an audit is for a copy of the actual return.
Even the transcript information is monitored as to who within the IRS accesses the records. That person would most likely be prosecuted. It’s not like the Obama unmasking fiasco.

Take it to the bank, if there was something questionable/illegal on his tax returns, we would already know about it.

Thomas is a national treasure. He’s got to be 10 times smarter than just about any other justice on the court. 100 times smarter than any of the folks in Congress.

You don’t get this type of details in taxes. Financial statements tell you the most about a business. Including if you have outstanding taxes etc.

Tax returns tell you a lot. As a retired forensic CPA I’ve torn tax returns apart many times in courtroom testimony. While Trumps return is very complex, after years of preparing returns you learn to reverse engineer the return to the transactions being reported.
How bout throwing in zeros birth certificate while we’re at it.

Trump hires the best accountants possible, so there is no tax issue.
What they are digging at is the loans, and if he got favored interest rates, and how the rates were given to him. Deutsche Bank is the usual bank that he did loans with, and various questions will come up.
But I would suggest this....as any info starts to leak to the NY Times...the prosecutor will be brought into a lawsuit over protection of data. He could be forced into a game where several million dollars of his money (not the government’s) has to be paid for damages.
As long as he isn’t stupid and agrees to taped testimony...I don’t see them getting far with this act.
The President should release requested docs only if under Indictment. Without a legal Indictment, take the highway.
When the IRS was persecuting Conservative Groups about their non-profit status the Commissioner claimed a hard drive was destroyed that contained emails under subpoena and no one was fired or prosecuted

We are pleased that in the decisions issued today, the Supreme Court has temporarily blocked both Congress and New York prosecutors from obtaining the President’s financial records. We will now proceed to raise additional Constitutional and legal issues in the lower courts.
