Licensed liquor establishments throughout the Commonwealth should expect more visits from Pennsylvania State Police Liquor Control Enforcement Officers over the weekend.

Officers are checking to make sure customers and employees are abiding by social distancing, masking, and other health and safety requirements. From July 1 to July 5, officers conducted compliance checks at 2,189 licensed-liquor establishments and issued 21 warnings for failing to follow COVID-19 requirements.

“We have a tremendous working relationship with licensees and the overwhelming majority of our interactions throughout the pandemic have been positive,” said Major Jeffrey Fisher, director of the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement. “Our role is to ensure business owners are taking the necessary steps to keep their customers, employees, and the larger community safe.”

Officers show up at establishments to conduct compliance checks unannounced. While the checks could occur anywhere, the officers focus on areas that are experiencing higher coronavirus transmission rates.

Upon arrival, officer are making sure all businesses and employees in the restaurant and retail food-service industry are:

Requiring all customers to wear masks while entering, exiting, or otherwise traveling throughout the restaurant or retail food-service business (face masks may be removed while seated). Employees are required to wear masks at all times; Providing at least six feet between parties at tables or physical barriers between customers where booths are arranged back to back; Ensuring maximum occupancy limits for indoor and outdoor areas are posted and enforced.

Citations will be administered to violators by the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement. Repeat offenders’ liquor licenses are at risk if they continue to ignore the rules.

More information is available on the enforcement page of the state police COVID-19 portal. Statistics are updated weekly.

Complaints regarding licensees not complying with COVID-19 mitigation mandates may be directed to the BLCE at 1-800-932-0602 or reported through the BLCE’s online complaint form.

None of these ‘requirements’ are laws passed by the legislature.

wondering, but what if an establishment refused to allow them onto their premises without a warrant? After all, why make it easy for them?

“PSP Troopers do NOT consider PA-BLCE agents their peers!”

Nor are they ; but under law or try to challenge, same, same.

Dont know what the law is in Kentucky where they are doing the Nascar race but they just had a fight with masks off.

burton shoved gragson and then gragson threw a haymaker..well..maybe not technically..but threw a punch..while wearing no mask. then the crew got in on it

If you're not wearing a mask....

Papers-Please

Glad I live in a free state where the police aren't being used to enforce tyrannical edicts.

That’s right.

You live in a State that totally bans alcohol in places.
Police search people’s luggage for it. Then arrest them!

Where’s your meme for that?

That is not a state law, that is individual villages making their own decision to ban alcohol. The state believes that locals are better able to determine what's best for their community than a one-size-fits-all state policy. I have no problems with that.

The law is enforced by the State Police at airstrips and airports.

Who cares who made the laws.......you agree is a just law?

Should the police without a warrant search your bags?

I’m a bit surprised by the uproar over mask for example when for years the government has been requiring far more and imposing far worse on us and no one said or did a thing about it.

Far worse?

About the only thing more intrusive would be an implanted RFID chip.

The mask orders are dry run to gauge compliance.

The mask is the Mark...beta.

Far worse:

Ever look at OSHA Laws?

Steel toe boots.
Helmet.
Ear protection.
Hi-vis vest.
Eye protection.
Hair net.
Rubber soles.
Gloves.

State Laws.......Shoes must be worn to drive.
Corrected Lenses.
Seatbelts.
Orange Hat and Vest or more depending on State for hunting. Even if on private land.

Federal Law.....must wear a suit and tie in all Federal Courts. If you are poor and do t have one, there is a wardrobe closet at every Federal Courthouse.

Those just a few laws telling you what you have to wear.

What have you done about them?
