A number of prominent conservatives have offered their support for Goya Foods as it faces mass calls for boycott over its CEO's decision to praise President Trump.
On Friday, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, tweeted: "Goya is a staple of Cuban food. My grandparents ate Goya black beans twice a day for nearly 90 years. And now the Left is trying to cancel Hispanic culture and silence free speech. #BuyGoya"
President Trump similarly tweeted "I LOVE @GoyaFoods!" amid the backlash. Figures such as former model Chrissie Teigen had advanced the boycott as a way to retaliate against CEO Robert Unanue, who appeared beside Trump at a White House event this week.
"We're all truly blessed at the same time to have a leader like President Trump, who is a builder," he said. Trump was promoting the White House Hispanic Prosperity Initiative, which is designed to expand educational and economic opportunities for Hispanic-Americans.
While criticizing the boycott, "The View" co-host Meghan McCain warned that it might result in job loss during the difficult economic problems begot by the coronavirus pandemic.

While I am happy to support Goya I can’t help but recall how conservative support of Chick fil a was ultimately in vain.
Actually as always, you percieve a falsehood and then proceed to crow about it
I picked up some Goya products at the grocery store just yesterday. Paid a but more for my black beans, but it was well worth it.
Go get your shine-box, bert.
Wrong. And there are reports that Goya sales have been surging this weekend.
I did my part yesterday.
“While I am happy to support Goya I cant help but recall how conservative support of Chick fil a was ultimately in vain.”
That’s the first thought of most of us here, but look at the interviews of their president, he’s rock-solid for Trump. The Chick-a-fill bunch was weasel-wording from the start (with stuff like we take no position on the gay lifestyle, and we have gays working at our joints, etc.). This Goya guy simply gives the finger to the Left.
Chrissie Teigen is built like a truck. She has a short square torso and big boobs, and I cannot recall if they are silicone or not. So she is definitely not clothes model material. I can’t imagine what else she modeled when she modeled if she modeled.
There is a real difference between being genuinely avant garde and having a potentially valid alternative view and simply wanting to jump on a bandwagon and change the terms to include you. Teigen is a prime example of the latter. Endlessly self promoting and seeking for every current cause or position to exploit.
I looked for Goya at the supermarket yesterday but apparently it’s not an Arizona thing. Or just not a Fry’s thing.
I’ve never purchased their products before but I bought a variety of Goya products yesterday. I look forward to trying them.
I love Goya stuff. Almost always 30% less expensive than competitors
Not even in the Hispanic section?
That is very strange for AZ.
Black beans are delicious, but all it takes is one teeny bean for me to blow up like a balloon. The price of gas has never been cheaper.
I love me some Goya Black Beans.
Deplorable Push Back to be found all over!!!
Omg this was flying over the beach at the jersey shore!!!
Every Hispanic friend I had growing up had a cupboard full of Goya products. Are the Biden jackboots trying to alienate that voter demographic, too?!
Here's the pic....
Loved THIS reply....
In a nutshell, this is a perfect example of the differences between a Conservative vs Liberal protest.
Conservatives contribute to local businesses while Liberals loot them and then burn them down.
