Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg announced on Friday that she has been undergoing treatment for cancer since May.
“On May 19, I began a course of chemotherapy…to treat a recurrence of cancer,” Ginsburg said in a statement.
The justice said the cancer was first discovered as part of a regular biopsy in February, during which doctors discovered lesions on her liver. An initial immunotherapy treatment was unsuccessful.
“The [current] chemotherapy course, however, is yielding positive results,” Ginsburg said. “Satisfied that my treatment course is now clear, I am providing this information. ”
53 The justice was hospitalized on Monday with a fever and infection. In her Friday statement, Ginsburg said the hospitalization was unrelated to her treatment for cancer.
Ginsburg has had cancer multiple times over the course of her 25-year tenure on the court. At 87, she is the eldest current Supreme Court justice. However, the justice sought to allay concerns that her medical issues would interfere with her work.
“Throughout, I have kept up with opinion writing and all other Court work,” Ginsburg said. “I have often said I would remain a member of the Court as long as I can do the job full steam. I remain fully able to do that.”

Hypothetically, assuming he loses in November, would Trump have enough time to replace her in 2020? Would the Senate allow him? Given the soft RINOs in that chamber, I think not. Her death prior to the election would be used as campaign fodder on both sides. I could see it greatly driving enthusiasm up on the left.

To a demon, age makes no difference, it just occupying the shell of an 87 year old woman. This is a demon straight out of the pit of hell. The Reaper has tried several times to “harvest” this one, but Satan keeps ensuring its survival. Lil’ Ruthie is Satan’s Lazarus.

Hopefully, he wins, but in the event, Trump loses, I don’t see there being a great deal of republican support to push for specific judges. I think for most, the fight will have gone out of them, and they will be ready to submit to

Advocates for abortion ought *never* be elected to public office. They ought be disqualified before even running if they voice support for the shedding of innocent blood. Shame on us for not policing the most fundamental attribute of securing liberty for ourselves and our posterity. We do NOT legislate the shedding of innocent blood, nor do we appoint judges over it. It is so starkly contrary to our founding principles as to defy civil society and natural law.
May 19. That’s two months ago. I humbly submit that if you are a high government official, you have a responsibility to keep the citizenry updated on such matters. Imagine if Donald Trump had be undergoing cancer treatments for two months....
