I am not a Pompeo fan at all...bad vibes.
Well he was a congress critter for several years so he is likely bought off or has deep state handlers.
He is probably closer to Bolton than to Trump but I think he likes his job so just gets on with it.
There was never any reason to go into Afghanistan.
No one will ever tame Afghanistan, many have tried and failed.
30 days of daily B-52 runs was all that was necessary after 9/11.
That and destroy their primary source of income - poppy fields. A lot of agent orange or other chemical would have done a ton of good. And personally, just because I don't like Mooslims, I would poison their water supply. By the way, I have yet to run across an article that discusses how the military had stopped opioid production in Afghanistan.

The bureaucracy, disfunction and inefficiency where I work is biblical. We got a new boss that started 17 months ago. What he does best is talk about himself to tell us how great he is. He quickly recognized the problems, told us all the great things he was going to do.....needless to say he has accomplished nothing of value. He’s made it worse by coming up with solutions in search of a problem, adding more layers of BS-process to the simplest things.
The point is, it was a dumpster fire when he got here and did nothing, or it was fine when he got here and he screwed it all up. Either way he owns it now.
Same as Trump on many issues.

1. I want TPTB to stop with regime change wars, and interventions under the guise of our patriotic duty to the world.
An example of our faux patriotic duty is Lindsey Graham announcing yesterday, the US has brokered a deal to let an American Company develop and sell Syrian Oil via the SDF/Kurds.
2. The CiC, who is Commander of our Armed Forces, orders our occupying troops home. He lifts sanctions that are hurting people who cannot access food and medicine because of the sanctions.
An example is our threatening sanctions against European Contractors involved in Nordstream2, sanctioning 18 year old boys (Hafez Al Assad), blocking diabetes medicines from Johnson & Johnson (IIRC) to Venezuela.
3.We rethink our foreign policy in terms of possible long term outcomes, rather than short term ones that become drawn out, or never ending engagements that have decimated populations, and gained everyday Americans nothing, have increased mental health, and physical disabilities in our military/vets to greater numbers, and given us ever increasing debt.
Then What Happens?
