The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will foot the postage bill for mail-in-ballots in November’s general election, officials announced Friday.

The state government plans to use money from the federal emergency coronavirus aid bill to cover the cost of postage, which could total several million dollars to cover 55 cents per ballot, NBC 10 Philadelphia reported.

Democrat Gov. Tom Wolf’s top elections official, Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar, said paying for postage makes voting more accessible, safer, and easier during the coronavirus pandemic.

So how about hand delivered “mail-in” ballots?

Will NOT delivering the ballots now be a federal crime and a state crime?

How do we maintain ballot security without knowing each step of the path the ballot takes to be counted?

Or, are we back to ... I am with the government please trust me?

It would be discriminatory against poor people to charge them for postage on the ballot.

I see another ‘chad’ fiasco similar to the Bush/Gore race. Only much worse.

Yep, much worse. It will take weeks to count all the votes. Massive number of ballots will be lost. Litigation will follow.

Some citizen of Pennsylvania needs to bring a suit against this law. Tie the whole thing up in court. The same wit the new law in Nevada. These laws are designed to permit vote fraud. A civil rights violation.

Since the “certification” signature by the voter is on the OUTSIDE of the return envelope, it will be easy for anyone/anyplace in the returning mail process to SELECTIVELY remove “undesirable” TARGETED ballots. Since Pennsylvania is a state where the ballots must be RECEIVED by Election Day, the corrupt postal employee(s) can simply just temporarily “hide” those targeted ballots until after Election Day and then renter them into the delivery process... it’s not necessary to criminally destroy or throw away the envelopes. It’s just an OOPS!

Why some citizen of PA? The Trump Administration should have already filed suit.

But aren’t elections state matters, not federal?

So not even a post mark. Why don’t they announce the vote results now and save the money for another nefarious purpose. That would have just as much integrity.

Our REPUBLICAN state legislature passed a bill allowing mail-in voting last October.

Don’t forget that massive numbers of ballots will miraculously be ‘found’, if needed to ensure the annointed winner actually wins.

Vote for Mr, Mander, that is Gerry Mander, on election day!

Where are the Republican controlled House and Senate here in Pa.? They should be the ones fighting this in the courts.

They are state matters but the Feds and the Trump Campaign have legitimate stakes. Bush v. Gore was all about Bush’s 14th. Amendment rights. Trump has tipped his hand that the potential for foreign powers to forge ballots is a national security issue.

Fighting it in the courts? They passed the bill which allows it (see my post above).

With the decline of Post Office activity due to the fact that even third graders are texting, it is MOST foolish to trust a physical service no longer as manned and secure as it once was.

The people now working for the Postal Service are not paying attention to National politics as much as you think you'd like them to be.
