Having already left her previous job running the Ohio Department of Health, Dr. Amy Acton is now leaving state government altogether, Gov. Mike DeWine announced Tuesday.
Minutes after DeWine announced the news during his twice-weekly coronavirus briefing, the Columbus Foundation announced it has hired Acton to run Kind Columbus, which the nonprofit describes as being dedicated to spreading the words and actions of kindness as a defining value for our region.
The program, through community partners, helps fund programs for people in need, according to Columbus Foundation spokeswoman Natalie Parscher. This could involve providing direct support to someone dealing with a one-time financial hardship, or in the case of a program developed with Ohio State University, helping provide meals to people struggling with food insecurity, Parscher said.

DeWine said Tuesday hes remained in regular contact with Acton, including talking about her preparations for court testimony over the weekend. The DeWine administration and the state health department have been the target of numerous lawsuits over abortion and coronavirus-related restrictions, among other subjects.
How much does this gig pay?
They both seem like Weasels f to me
Probably more than she was making as health director, which was a good salary. I’m guessing something around 200K.
How much does this gig pay?

Likely pretty well. I think were being overrun by people working for tax-deductible charitable foundations which have most of their expenditures going to connected staffers and their expenses.
Those two sure seem awfully friendly....with each other.
On March 12, Amy Acton, director of the Ohio Department of Health, and Governor Mike DeWine told Ohioans that there were already 100,000 of us infected with the virus.
The next day, Amy clarified that this number was her guesstimate.
She was relying on a projection from a Harvard professor of epidemiology who himself guesstimated that between 20% and 60% of Americans will have the virus. Using the most pessimistic number of 60%, Dr. Acton worked the math backward into Ohios population base to arrive at her 100,000 infected number.

Thank You, Operation Rescue, for opening a can of Saul Alinsky whoop-ass on her.
Now, please do the same with Rachel Levine.
Ohio has about 95K “cases.” By next week, the number will be 100K.
So if 100K Ohioans had coronavirus back in March, what is the big deal?
Either Acton was really, really off about the 100K figure months ago, or she was correct and the true number of Ohioans who have had the virus and whose symptoms have ranged from being easily confused for allergies to being dead are one million by now.
Either way, she was wrong.
Science and facts have been replaced by hunches and guesses.
Joining a foundation that was named for an colonialist oppressor? What is she, some kind of racist? /s
She was the highest paid official in Ohio and was not elected, there is a stank about her

Agreed. Awhile back I did a little checking on Charity Navigator. I was amazed at the number of charities that had executives making half a million dollars a year, and more.
Maybe theyre worth it. I dunno. But Ill be sticking with the Salvation Army and the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Yep. Just ask FRAUDchi.
A reported $150,000 to play jumped-up school nurse and put on that patronizing tone of voice.
DeWine’s a slippery eel. Supposedly Acton resigned but he kept her around as an adviser (giving the same crap advice) and on the payroll.
Foundations are slippery as well - easy to funnel money here and there. Acton was an Obamaite in Texas and it’s an open secret she will run as Dem Senate candidate probably against Portman.
AND... they are.
Hallelujah and good riddance.
OHIO PING!
Please let me know if you want on or off the Ohio Ping list.
Some older, but impt. articles as I catch up from PC problems.
