House Democrats will vote on giving Postal Service a $25 billion boost

Washington (CNN)The House is set to return on Saturday to vote on legislation related to the US Postal Service, House Democratic leaders announced Monday, with an eye toward providing the financially strapped agency with $25 billion in funding despite White House objections.

The bill is still being finalized, top Democrats told members during a caucus call, but it will incorporate a version of Rep. Carolyn Maloney's Delivering for America Act, which would prohibit recent USPS operational changes the Trump administration has made that have slowed mail service around the country.

The bill will also include Democrats' initial ask for $25 billion in funding for the Postal Service, three sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told members the final bill is likely to come out of committee on Tuesday.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee also announced Monday afternoon that Postmaster General Louis DeJoy will testify next week amid accusations that the Trump administration is purposefully hamstringing the Postal Service in an effort to prevent mail-in voting during the pandemic.

Pelosi announced over the weekend that she would call the chamber back into session from its August recess to consider emergency legislation to halt service changes carried out under DeJoy. The House had previously planned to next return for votes in the middle of September.

How can the Rats steal the election, unless they first steal TWENTY FIVE BILLION DOLLARS first to oil the machine they will use to steal with?

So by their own logic - how is this NOT election interference by bribing “election officials”?

Maybe if they’d stop shipping Amazon packages and others at a loss they would have the money they need.

They wouldn’t even need that, if Amazon took over all of their own deliveries (which they are at least starting to do here in the cornfields) (Saw one delivering yesterday)

If Dems are so concerned about mailboxes, why didn’t they condemn the burning down of Post Offices by BLM terrorists?

In Minneapolis alone, 3 Post Offices were burned to the ground during the “peaceful protests.”

Did CNN even try to enumerate some of these allegations, or did they just let that lie... well, lie there?

FR POSTED-——In a letter sent to her House colleagues Sunday afternoon, San Fran Nan thought it would be a terrific idea to compound her lies alleging President Trump is somehow “defunding” and “dismantling” the U.S. Postal Service by refusing to pour an extra $27 billion down that particular rathole by adding the age-old Democrat hustle of scaring the old folks about Social Security.

Her letter, which is posted as a press release on her website, reads as follows:

“The Postal Service is a pillar of our democracy, enshrined in the Constitution and essential for providing critical services: delivering prescriptions, Social Security benefits, paychecks, tax returns and absentee ballots to millions of Americans, including in our most remote communities.”

“Alarmingly, across the nation, we see the devastating effects of the President’s campaign to sabotage the election by manipulating the Postal Service to disenfranchise voters,” claims Pelosi. “These delays also threaten the health and economic security of the American people by delaying delivery of life-saving medicines and payments.”

In response to Pelosi’s despicably dishonest diatribe, the Social Security Administration issued a statement today noting that checks to recipients last were delivered via the U.S. mail in 2013.

Pelosi is far, far from the only communist Democrat lying to the old folks about this matter. Here is a tweet issued by America’s Worst Mistake, Barack Hussein Obama His Own Self, on Friday:

Let’s also note who was President in 2013, when the SSA stopped mailing checks to Social Security recipients: That would be Barack Hussein Obama His Own Self.

That would be the very same Barack Hussein Obama His Own Self who told a fellow communist Democrat last week that he should “Never underestimate the ability of Joe Biden to f*ck things up,” according to the far left rag Politico.

It's obvious that Amazon can ship things thru the USPS a lot cheaper than I can!

I understand quantity discounts, but why does the USPS set a price where they lose money? You don't make that up on quantity.

Who gives a damn. It’s dead in the water.

It's propaganda and it's effective. It will sway votes to Democrats. They don't care if it passes the Senate. It's the usual Democrat political theater and it works.

Not only will it never see the Senate floor. It would most certainly be vetoed. Hey, make it $25 Trillion!
