President Donald Trump said that he would “swap out” Goodyear tires from his presidential limousine nicknamed “The Beast” after earlier calling for the company to be boycotted.
“On the Goodyear issue, you ride on Goodyear tires in the presidential limousine. If there were an alternative, you want those tires swapped out?” asked Fox News White House correspondent John Roberts during a Wednesday press conference.
Trump responded, “Yeah, I would do that. I would swap them out based on what I heard. We’ll see what happens. Look. you’re going to have lot of people not wanting to buy that product anymore. They’ll buy it from a competitor — made in the USA, too.”

I heard that Goodyear stock has already taken a hit, and they are trying to “clarify” their position.
How about waiting until the tires need replacing to switch brands rather than waste taxpayer money on what might be perfectly fine tires?
Good. I need two new tires for one of my cars. No Goodyear products, including Douglas. I’d rather pay an extra $20 or shop around. I hope their blimp has to land in Chicago.
My guess is those tires are custom special design. Trump can certainly make the change but it’s not like pulling into a Firestone.

I am completely ok with a business not allowing any writing on clothing. That is completely different from choosing which causes are worthy to be worn and which are not. Goodyear goofed. Maybe other businesses will learn from this.
How about it comes out of his salary (which he donates) and we call it even?
Hell let hem donate them to a needy police station squad car somewhere. The can still get some use.
Or shred them up for use in a repaving project. Plenty of ways they can serve a purpose.

Goodyear really effrd up. They should come out immediately and say no politics at work. Unfortunately, BLM terrorists would probably start attacking their stores.
I would think Trump could also issue an EO to exclude companies from government contracts that engage in political discrimination. The EO should deal with discrimination and not just single out specific companies.
This problem is likely not limited to tires or Goodyear.
