For Joe Biden, Charlottesville defines the Trump presidency (Called Antifa "Courageous" 04/25/2019)
The Washington Post ^ | 04/25/2019 | Eugene Scott

"Charlottesville is also home to a defining moment for this nation in the last few years. It was there on August of 2017 we saw Klansmen and white supremacists and neo-Nazis come out in the open, their crazed faces illuminated by torches, veins bulging, and bearing the fangs of racism. Chanting the same anti-Semitic bile heard across Europe in the ‘30s. And they were met by a courageous group of Americans, and a violent clash ensued and a brave young woman lost her life.

And that’s when we heard the words from the president of the United States that stunned the world and shocked the conscience of this nation. He said there were ‘some very fine people on both sides.’ Very fine people on both sides?

With those words, the president of the United States assigned a moral equivalence between those spreading hate and those with the courage to stand against it. And in that moment, I knew the threat to this nation was unlike any I had ever seen in my lifetime."

Posting this item from the day Biden announced his candidacy in 2019 to keep it from going down the memory hole, and to refute the Biden campaign's recent attempt to position itself as opposed to riots. Snopes attempts to categorize some memes alluding to Biden's quote as "Mostly False" by arguing that, "While antifa was part of the counter-protests in Charlottesville, Biden did not mention the group by name. Therefore, we rate this claim as 'Mostly False'." But it is not necessary to mention something by name to refer to it (I refer Snopes to the grammatical concepts of pronouns and demonstratives). Moreover, Biden draws a parallel between the "courageous group of Americans" at Charlottesville and the 1930s resistance to the Nazis (whom Biden does not name, either, but hopefully it is obvious even to Snopes that he is alluding to the Nazis when he refers to "anti-Semitic bile heard across Europe in the ‘30s"). Biden's clear implication is that he means to praise as "courageous" those at Charlottesvile who took up the anti-fascist resistance of the 1930s, i.e., Antifa. He may not have known them by name (I doubt he did), but he certainly knew their self-proclaimed cause. Therefore, I rate the claim that Biden called Antifa courageous as "Entirely True" and award Snopes four Pinnochios.

It is a complete hoax. Biden is pinning his entire candidacy on a hoax.

He said there were ‘some very fine people on both sides.’ Very fine people on both sides?

We know he was thinking of history buffs, tourism dependent businesses like B and Bs, artsy folks, and reenactors, not klansmen or the like. I wonder what the author would be whining about if he had instead said "some assholes on both sides?"

All the criticism on Trump’s response to Charlottesville has been debunked. That Hiden Biden has no clue to the truth of Charlottesville shows how out of touch he can be over the simplest of matters. Fitness test for office = E.

Why does Joe keep beating the dead horse, of that thing in Charlottesville three years ago? That is the singular event of the Trump presidency, which is supposed to shock us?

There has been lots of crap said about Trump by many others, but I haven’t heard anyone besides Joe keep bringing up the Charlottesville thing over and over.

It just occurred to me: If Biden wins it will send Hillary through the roof. She may have an interest in making sure a candidate arguably worse than her (Biden) doesn’t eclipse her by beating Trump.

"Biden is pinning his entire candidacy on a hoax."

He is also pinning his candidacy on another hoax, the anonymous charge that Trump said veterans are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers.’ That Hiden Biden is a viable candidate for the Presidency is the BIGGEST hoax. He isn't fit to be on the poop detail for a parade of horses.

“..That Hiden Biden has no clue to the truth of Charlottesville shows how out of touch he can be over the simplest of matters...”

If Joe is not being fed by a teleprompter, he is lost and breaks into uncontrolled random speech. Only voter fraud and other associated crimes will get him elected...to bypass the normal vote that will elect Trump again.

Jason Kessler (former Occupy member) was the organizer of Unite the Right. (Fun fact: the North Korean-friendly Workers World Party and KKK-type groups frequently protest together, sometimes with support from North Korea and other countries, a fact which has not gone unnoticed by the U.S. intelligence community--see for instance Why did the Workers World Party attend a conference with neo-confederate secessionists? and White Power and apocalyptic cults: Pro-DPRK Americans revealed American homegrown terrorist groups are the chosen favorites of Pyongyang). The main KKK-per-se groups present at Charlottesville were the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, which styles itself as a new KKK but was founded in 2012; and a Maryland-based group called the Confederate White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, whose founder Richard Preston was sentenced for firing a gun at the rally. In addition to these groups were dozens of other groups of various orientations. Some were ideologically akin to the KKK, others were there to protest the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee or to protect protestors from counter-protestors. Counter-protestors included Antifa, BLM, the aforementioned WWP, the RCP, Refuse Fascism, the IWW, the DSA, Redneck Revolt, etc.--the usual suspects.

CNN reported a bit on that: These Trump supporters think Charlottesville was a false flag operation

"I think a great portion of it is a conspiracy," said L.A. Key. "I think it was a setup." Asked by Camerota who organized this conspiracy, Key responded: "I think people who want to derail our President." Later, Key added that protesters were "coming off the same bus with some wearing Black Lives Matter and some wearing the KKK shirts. They were brought in to cause a controversy. Right?" Added Robert McCarthy, another Trump supporter: "The protesters, the antifa people had an ad on Craigslist recruiting people for $25 an hour to show up for the protest in Charlottesville. It's all over the place." (CNN's Leigh Munsil did some searching to find these alleged videos. The closest she could find was this video -- in which a man in a car recounts these "stories" about people in KKK shirts and BLM shirts getting on buses next to one another. The narrator of this video appears to be citing something he was told by someone else. And the $25-an-hour rate showed up in posts like this one, which showed a screenshot of an unverified Craigslist ad for actors wanted in *Charlotte, North Carolina* -- but with the headline: "Did Crowds on Demand bus rioters into Charlottesville, Virginia?")

The video they're linking to is called EYE WITNESS KKK ANTIFA/BLM ON SAME BUSES.

Vote TRUMP or end up in Wuhan Hell!

The “fine people” thing is a lie. Trump specifically denounced white supremacists and Nazis. The media always edits out that part and mentions the “fine people” out of context. Biden and the Democrats and the media know it is a lie. They also know that 99% of the undecideds and independents never heard the truth. This is probably the most successful lie in years, so it’s a valuable tool in the Democrat’s toolbox. It’s how they do things.
