NEWS ‘YMCA’ writer OK with Trump using song — but he wants to see him dance
NY Post ^ | September 11, 2020 | Steven Nelson

President Trump has drawn heat form stars such as Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones and John Fogerty for using their songs before his rallies, but one composer has no problem with it.

Victor Willis of the Village People says Trump is welcome to continue using “YMCA” at his re-election rallies — he just wants to see the commander in chief do the iconic dance.

“’YMCA’ is everybody’s anthem and go-to song for fun. As for the president’s use, I have not granted permission for use at his rallies because permission is not required,” Willis told Bloomberg News through a spokesman.

“If I were a Trump hater maybe I’d sue him simply out of spite,” Willis said. “I am not, and I’m not going to have my lawyers sue the president. But he should at least do the ‘YMCA’ dance while he’s at it.”

That’s the most reasonable thing I’ve heard an entertainer say in a long time. Good for him!

Better yet, have President Trump and his beautiful wife dance at the beginning and end.

Steven Tyler, of Aerosmith did a good job too.

I heard Trump talk about it in an interview. Tyler contacted candidate Trump, arranged a meeting, and asked him in what Trump called a very professional manner, to not use Aerosmith’s songs at his rallies. He said Tyler was very nice, completely professional, and I’ve never heard him say a negative word about Tyler. He stopped using their songs too. Quite a shame, they did some good ones...

But they talked it over, Tyler explained himself, they came to an agreement, and Trump was ok with it. And he was very courteous toward Tyler when he talked about it in the interview too. Not a derogatory word was spoken, no silly nickname either.

Not such a good visual, The original Megadeth of the 70s was the band climaxed the lemmings concert for national lampoon. The goal of lemmings want to get a half 1 million young people out to a field of them selves. At the end of the concert with Megadeth the whole audience was dead.

Perhaps someone can explain to me “stay at the YMCA”? I’ve been in a number of YMCAs over the decades, but I’ve never been to one that allowed people to stay there. Perhaps someone could educate me.

Sleepy Joe and Coke Hunter Biden should both dance the Turkey Chicken Dance at Joe's next appearance. Hopefully, soon to be followed by the 'Perp Dance', all the way to Leavenworth.

Actually none of the “stars” have any trouble with any of it because they all signed contracts to SHUT UP AND SING before they released the song for money, so.......
