NYC Councilman Explains How Cuomo Raided Restaurant Holding a 9/11 Fundraiser

Joyce’s Tavern in Staten Island had never been visited by the State Liquor Authority before the pandemic. But they "selfishly" decided to hold a charity event for the Tunnel2Towers organization, which was created to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who died saving others on September 11, 2001.

New York City Councilman Joe Borelli, who held a book signing at the tavern last week, explained in an animated Twitter thread on Sunday how the city raided the restaurant without warning. He had an inkling as to why the city targeted this specific restaurant.

On Thurs, They let me have a little book signing- Outdoors of course, on a small patio. I advertised the event from the same twitter acnt I use to bash Cuomo & de Blasio on a daily basis. The bar also has flags that wld make it seem like it was right-leaning."

"What a coincidence, on Friday, the very next night, the SLA goons come in for a surprise random inspection," Borelli wrote. "The first time there ever."

...

What Borelli means when he says the Tunnel2Towers group "embarrassed" the city is that they held a live reading of the names ceremony to honor the victims of 9/11, whereas the National September 11 Memorial & Museum only played a pre-recording of the reading due to COVID concerns. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani called it "disgraceful" and attended the Tunnel2Towers event instead.

...

State Liquor Authority arrived to "immediately remove and revoke their liquor license."

The tavern is expected to pay a $25,000 fine, which Borelli predicts will put them out of business. He asked Cuomo how he and his associates sleep at night.

For what reason was their liquor license revoked?

Because this type of behavior would show this whole lock down thing has been a scam.

Read yesterday that the Brits diagnosed anyone with a positive Whu Flu test 28 days prior to death as a covid death no matter what the real cause of death.

Cuomo was never that great, except for being a fascist.

So the people attending the fundraiser outnumbered the government thug and somehow the restaurant did not turn off the cameras and the government thug wasn’t curb stomped?

Tyrants do not like to be disobeyed. The punishment for disobeying a tyrant is swift and often without mercy, or even the Left’s favorite word “tolerance”.

Because Cuomo and DeBlasio are totalitarians.

Cuomo has done this at least a couple of times that I know of.

He’s sent State Police and SLA out to harass over 1,000 businesses statewide on a Saturday.

Meanwhile crime us up all over the state.

Cuomo’s last harassment spree netted, count ‘em, four violations. Out of over 1,000 visits.

Looks to me like folks are properly cowed.

And note to the State Police: I am rapidly losing my respect for any agency that is complicit in this.

State Liquor Authority arrived to "immediately remove and revoke their liquor license."

I sure wish people would start to realize that the only reason for these 'licenses' is so that any time the government (at whatever level) feels like acting like thugs, they have the means immediately at hand to do so.

My tagline is even more relevant than it has ever been.

LOL. you think they actually need a reason?

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

People need to start realizing they can shut down any business they want to, for whatever reason they want. There are thousands of 'regulations' ready at hand, and I'm sure any one of them would be sufficient pretext to destroy any business that doesn't bow sufficiently to their overlords.

You want to know what would be a total BOSS move here?

For President Trump to — in a very public campaign moment — tell the short story as of what happened, call Cuomo out as a bully and a punk, say something like, “I don’t know who you think YOU stand for, Mario, but I’m here to make clear that I’m standing with the people of New York City. This fine business WILL NOT be harmed by you and your goon squad,” then write a check to pay the fine out of his own pocket

You wanna talk about bringing down the house...? He’d damn near turn that whole state red.
