“If you knew my mother, you would not think she is a Marine,” Kluttz said. “She is not hard-core and strict-ruled. She is a gentle giant. My mother’s secret to living a long life is to be kind to one another, love God and follow his commandments, eat lots of chocolate, and have your dinner with a glass of red wine. Semper Fi to all Marines and to all other military who have served, and a big thank you to their service.”

God bless her.

Bet she doesn’t look a day over 100. Like Mick Jagger and
Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin.

Speaking of which, here’s a tough trivia question. Identify this woman Marine. She later became a TV star. The answer is below.

It’s Bea Arthur, who later starred in the sitcom ‘The Golden Girls’.

He’s 4 years younger than our oldest living World War II veteran, who is 111 years old.

I didn’t much care at all for Bea Arthur’s politics, but you have to give credit where credit is due - she served at a time when she didn’t have to, and could easily have gotten out of serving by not enlisting. So I give her credit for that; not much else, mind you, but that she deserves.
