Yes prosecute the violent agitators AND the new Republican Congress will need to address Title IV Financial Aid reform...aka no guaranteed student loans for bullsh*t majors like Women’s Studies or African American Studies. You want gubbmint money, go STEM or pay for it yourself. Within 4 years these enclaves of Anti-Americanism on college campuses will disappear and without fresh troops, the freak parade will wither. We can huge inroads into turning the tide. The church these violent anarchists worship at is their university graduate program. A goal should be to cut traditional college enrollment by 50% in America. We need plumbers, roofers and ditch diggers.

Well the BLM leaders at least outright admit and brag they are trained Marxists.

Besides which, police ARE government officials. Literally “officers”.

I’d say planning to seal them in a building and burn it down would seem to be an imminent danger.
But that’s just me.

Sedition toward FBI and CIA employees would be a good start. As of yet, Barr has done a fantastic job of protecting .gov and such institutions, while going after the commons.

Maybe one of FR's lawyers can help me, but is seems to me insurrection would be an easier charge, since you don't have to prove a conspiracy, just participation.

18 U.S. Code § 2383.Rebellion or insurrection

Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Might not apply in every circumstance, but certainly many of these incidents would qualify as A rising or rebellion of citizens against their government, usually manifested by acts of violence. Particularly in circumstances like Portland and Seattle where the rebels have essentially established their own government. And it requires only engaging in the acts, not a conspiracy.

That said, it would be easier to pursue things like arson, murder, attempted murder, assault and such. But those crimes seem to appear relevant only to police officers and a teenager in Kenosha. I suppose when the local prosecutors and governance supports violence in the streets, there's not much to do. Except charge such conspirators with Sedition and Insurrection, which isn't what Barr is talking about.

I dunno ...trying to burn down a police station with the officers inside? That might qualify, ya’ think?

Toppling and graffiti statues, demands to ‘defund the police’ in and of itself?

The no-go zones?

There’s lots and lots of fodder here.

They need proof? There are a ton of YouTube videos they can use.

Exactly! Lots of bragging on twitter and other social media sites too. They come right out and call what they're doing a "revolution." Seems pretty clear cut.

To bring a sedition case, prosecutors would have to prove there was a conspiracy to attack government agents or officials

That wouldn't be hard, would it, Joe? Lock them up in a police station and set it on fire. Among so many other stunts.

Attacking government buildings and agents, committing arson on federal lands, rioting with groups funded by foreign powers—plenty of grounds for sedition charges, as well as treason.

If they are charged with what they conspired to do, they will do some serious time!

trying to burn down a police station with the officers inside

Arson, a serious crime. Often coupled with attempted murder when people are involved in the target building. Very serious local charges. Makes me wonder why we're talking about Federal charges, other than the higher ups in the conspiracy. But in some locales in this nation, arson, attempted murder, like assault just doesn't count if the arsonists, attempted murders, assaulters are of the proper political conviction. Despite spending half my time in the Chicago area, I tend to think these things should be a local issue, and if the populace doesn't consider arson a crime if only police are the victims, it's a local problem. Like shootings in Chicago where BlackLivesDon'tMatter. But there is a Federal role here, I suppose. Interstate conspiracies, that's pure Federal and thely should hit them hard.

The Fraud got away with droning an American CITIZEN.

Anyone believe Trump would either do that, or get away with it?

Counterintelligence investigations are apparently no longer allowed, except for coups against Trump. But criminal investigations are. It is obvious that the riots and violence are to a great extent planned and coordinated. Barr is pointing out how to get the upper hand.
Step One: Assemble evidence of criminal acts.
Step Two: Get search warrants for all communications, finances, training, organization, political connections, journalistic connections. IOW, actually conduct a competent investigation.
Step Three: Present evidence to Grand Jury. Indict.

Use information gained from the investigation to shut down the funding, command and control, etc., BEFORE it is unleashed on the election and its aftermath.

Why does Barr have to tell US Attorneys to do this?

The US Attorneys prolly know this, some even better than Barr.

Barr did this for the publicity and to get us excited.

I'll get excited when there are indictments of the major players. Are you listening Durham? Until then this is just boring. Words are very cheap.
