• Morning AB, All. As always, thank you AB for doing this thread so reliably and keeping the peace with gentle thread policing. Thank you Bray for weekly written wisdom, Thank all yon contributors for excellent commentary to flesh it all out.

• Below are the words from my daily political diary. It is quite long so scroll on by if not interested. But do stay around and add your commentary and point of view to the thread.

Yes I am compiling a Blog about the great pandemic of 2020 and how my country stupidly shut down the economy.  We will have opinions, political and cultural highlights, my personal experience, social media details, even TV reviews since I watch so much TV while in my home jail.  We shall, as always, end with a smile.

MAJOR POLITICAL EVENTS OF THE WEEK
(another update)
World Peace

This past week yon descendants President Trump obtained signatures of Israel, Bahrain and the UAE countries that....well they would live near each other and stop the constant fighting.

Before Trump, nobody bothered to try and get those Arab hoodlums to stop attacking and/or bombing Israel that should not be allowed to exist.  Or so goes the Arab belief.

For almost 70 years now the Arabs surrounding Israel hate that country and in the days of Yassar Arafat, constant bombs were lobbed over the Palestinian border into Israel.

In the era of Secretary Madeline Albright and Hillary Clinton, all would join that horrible Arafat, now buried in somebody's garden, for a huge wine-sharing party.  I don't know why.  In that 70 year period with Palestine being adjacent to Israel and no other Arab country willing to take the country-less Palestinians....Palestine pretty much accomplished nothing much.

Meanwhile Israel managed to survive the constant attacks by the camel-humping Arabs and become a prosperous country with happy citizens.

President Trump is probably, silly man, offering the Arabs a hand out and a chastisement that this has been going on all these years, how about we all act like adults.

I'm sure there's more too it all than this.  There's Iran, also known as Persia, governed by camel-humpers of the highest order who own all the oil fields and have all the money.  The citizens of Iran would love to be free and happy but when you own people they follow your commands.

Iran is a cold sore of the region and I suspect even the Arab countries in their surround don't want the Ayatollahs to get a nuclear weapon and blow them all up.

Trump has said there will other Arab countries to join this coalition with Israel and maybe they can stop Iran and their evil intent.

MAJOR CULTURE EVENTS OF THE WEEK
(one more update)
Shooting of Sheriff Deputies in California.

She is 31 years old.  He is 24.  They are both Sheriff deputies, recently graduating from training about a year ago.  They were sitting in their plainly marked Sheriff department car when someone who, as of this writing, is unknown.

He came up to the car.  He shot both deputies twice; each received a bullet in the arm and in the face.

Most amazing, they both, as of this writing, have pulled through though still in the ICU.

The female deputy, with a bullet in her jaw, managed to phone in the shooting AND put a tourniquet on her partner's badly bleeding arm.

Meanwhile, the thug buddies of the shooter tried to block the hospital ER while shouting that they should die.

What has this country come to?

The female deputy is a hero.

The shooter and his fine friends are despicable.

More on this next time.

PERSONAL NOTES FROM ME RE THE PANDEMIC
(that my descendants may know how I handled it)

I went to vote this past week in the Delaware primary.  It was quite simple.  I had a mask.  I stood on the tape that kept me 6 feet away from the person in front of me.  The lady at the desk scanned my driver's license that I am legal.  I then electronically signed some kind of form that I do not come back to vote twice.

The lady handed me a paper ballot that I carried over to the voting machine.  The lady there opened the curtain to indicate I should go inside.  I inserted the paper ballot into a slot specifically for it.  On the electronic screen all of my candidates were listed with the position for which they were voting above their name.  I was to hit the one I wanted to vote for until all my choices were made.

After I was done I was to look at the paper ballot still in its slot to insure that the buttons I hit on the screen matched my votes.  When I was satisfied I hit the word VOTE on the screen and the paper ballot slid up to what I assume was a collection basket.

Boom.  Picture of me on license.  Signature of mine electronically.  Paper ballot and electronic ballot.

Took about five minutes all told.

Why is voting so hard for some states?

Oh yeah, nobody could cheat under my system.

OVER THE INTERNET
(social media explains so much)

REVIEWS TV SHOWS
(since I watch so much TV, not for my descendants)

BULL

https://www.cbs.com/shows/bull/

The series follows the employees at Trial Analysis Corporation (TAC), a jury consulting firm headed by Dr. Jason Bull, who is a psychologist and trial-science expert. Bull uses his skills and those of his team not only to select the right jurors for his clients, but also to help his clients' lawyers decide which type of argument will win over jurors best. Bull is inspired by the early career of Dr. Phil McGraw, who also serves as an executive producer.

When I first came upon this show I immediately liked it.  Beginning with the fact that it is a crime show needing brains to figure out whodunnit.  This is a genre I do like,.but this series has a twist that I find appealing.

Also, the show is produced by Dr. Phil McGraw, also known as Doctor Phil, formerly Oprah's private psychologist.  Dr. Phil is an interesting person and I watch his daytime show once in a while and, indeed, not that I am proud of this fact, but was myself interviewed to be on that show, which I turned down.  A story for another day.

I also like the character of Michael Weatherly who was one of the main characters on another favorite show of mine, NCIS.

On BULL, Weatherly portrays the owner of a company that offers consultations on a jury to better figure out....well what they're thinking.  The story of the jury's inclination is determined by team members observing closely and from experience they judge belief or disbelief by their facial tics and other movements.

Bull works closely, indeed is a boyfriend to the sister of, a lawyer who works closely with the team to try the case with whatever suggestions are offered by the psychology experts.

I find that most times the REAL cause of whatever is being tried in court is figured out by a couple of detective types.  So the show is sort of a combination of Dr. Phil's input as to details revealed by body movements and a classic who really did the deed or what really happened.

The show offers good characters and a great premise offering insight and my kind of entertainment.

THE FLY ON THE WALL

Yes I am a fly and yes I also Blog.  I tend to wander around among the politicians and hear their conversation.  Because I am a fly beneficial to humanity, I share that which I hear.

Begin Learning How to Create Public Events

Before I begin my column on what's going on in the bastions of power, I thought I would give an oversee of how a new convert is educated on how shaping public opinion works.

Yes I am only a fly but we do live a lifetime of over 65 days and I have listened and I have learned and truth be told, flies and all other animals learn how to behave and how to shape how the world turns from others of our species.  Human beings, however, have a greater history, all documented, whereas flies, just for example, watch their mother dine on poop and we then learn that poop is a desirable meal.

Human beings, on the other hand, have examples from the past that they learn to admire and emulate.

Well I'll not go on with my fly rhetoric.  Below is a fellow who joined the Joe Biden re-election campaign and has reported to Valjar to learn how it all works.
-------------------------------
So Bob Petry enters the office of Valeria Jarrett softly.  He'd been learning how to campaign for the past few weeks and now it was time to learn how public opinion is formed and who are the heroes.  Bob was very excited to meet the wonderful Valjar who knows everything.

Valeria entered the room and indicate that Bob should have a seat.

"How you been doing?" she asked after lighting a cigarette.

Bob blushed and shuffled his feet.  "I've been doing fine.  I love talking to people and having them see things our way....the right way in other words."

Valeria took a long drive of the cigarette as she regarded the new recruit.  She took a deep breath and began her lecture.

"Heroes are chosen by people from the past.  Movies, TV shows, cable networks.....any person or thing who did something admirable in the past.  We use them to make our points."  Valeria leaned back in her chair.

"For example, Bob Woodward once wrote a book about the Watergate controversy that led to the resignation of Richard Nixon.  We used his fame from that time to roust up some nasty things on Donald Trump, who we want to throw out of office, as you know."

Bob listened closely and nodded yes.  He's spent the entire prior two weeks on learning how to defeat Trump in the next election.

"We broadcast what we want on CNN, the first cable news network, we print it in the NY Times, we let Bob Woodward write a book to make money from his long ago fame.  It doesn't matter that any of these things or people amount to much of anything now.  We're using their history, their fame from the past.  Humans use their memories and once they see Bob Woodward or watch CNN at an airport, they believe that all they say and/or repeat must be true and righteous."

Valeria lit up the cigarette again and took a long drag. She leaned in closer to Bob.  "Do you really think that we have Joe Biden as our candidate because he's super smart?"

Bob fiddled with his tie.  He certainly didn't think that Biden was smart but he had to be, so Bob thought, because why would the Democrats choose a man without all his faculties to be their candidate?  But to hear the great Valjar bring up the subject kind of thrilled him.

"Joe Biden was a senator for yay many years," Valeria said, blowing a smoke plume toward the ceiling.  "He was VP for eight years.  He has a name recognition and many humans who don't pay much attention to the world around them, hear his name and figure that 'well, damn, he was VP and a senator, he's got to be smart and able to lead.'  Which is the plan."

"So Biden is not so smart, somewhat out of touch?" Bob asked softly.

"It doesn't matter," Valeria answered.  "We are using his history to get humans to vote for him.  Once he's elected we will tell him how to wipe his butt and what to say."

Valeria and Bob sat silent as Bob thought and Valeria was pensive.

"We get our heroes and leaders from the past and we use their former reputations. Goodness Woodward is losing his mind and Bernstein just wants to keep being famous.  The NY Times is totally controlled by the homosexual contingent and they print what we ask."

Valeria sat quiet for a moment and leaned in close to Bob.  "You see Bob, it's not what is going on today that matters.  It what happened in the past and we play it up.  Now you need to lean to folks, places and things who once were mighty and important and bring them up to the present."

Valeria then got up to leave and Bob followed her lead.  Suddenly Valeria stopped and spoke quietly.

"Bob, do you remember The Drudge Report?" Valeria asked.

Bob nodded that he did.

"He's now working with us.  He had a glorious past but now we use his name and reputation.  Do you understand this little lecture?"

Bob raised his eyebrows and smiles.

He understands the method very well now.

I know this is a morning talk show thread but wanted to make sure we all tune into Mark Levin’s Life, Liberty & Levin tonight @8 ET for a full hour interview with PDJT!!

It was taped on Thursday because Mark was about to observe the Jewish New Year and it’s a shame that they won’t have had an opportunity to know about RBG per se, but cannot miss this incredible conversation!!

So let’s get on this.

Ginsberg died and everything changed.

Yes I know she was very ill but she’d recovered so many times I suspect many of us pooh-poohed reports she was again in the hospital.

So what does her daughter say were her last sentiments before she passed?

Seems instead of telling her children and grandchildren how much she loved them, to have a good life, to remember the good times of a life well-lived, seems Ruth expressed a hope that her replacement would not be made until after the election.

Sorry folks, may she rest in peace and all that, but by me she was one of the nastiest, most unhappy human beings I ever met. Even to look at her constantly grim visage made me turn away.

She had everything. She had money, brains, a wonderful husband who could cook, had friends to include Scalia and important political friends. She had a son and a daughter, grandchildren. She lived to be 87, a long life to be sure. She beat cancer four times.

But she always showed a dislike for this country, wanted to kill thousands of unborn, complained about how women were mistreated.

Again, I wish her to rest in peace.

God will decide the rest.
