Just heard George Stephanopoulus on the Radio say he was told the Dems have plans to Impeach Trump and/or Barr to prevent the SCOTUS hearings and Vote.
Impeachment, Schiff is ready.

It’s amazing they’ll try this. Such a circus. Tells us all we need to know about the type of people they are and exactly why they should not hold the reigns of power. These folks should be voted out, even if replaced by other Democrats.
The House can impeach all they want but I don’t see how it prevents the Senate from holding hearings.

it’s as though they’re TRYING to lose. That would be the nail in the coffin for the Dems in my opinion. No one, outside of TDS victims, would even remotely consider that a justifiable move.

Probably a decent number of Democrats from moderate districts wondering if their careers are about to end...and for nothing, as the Senate operates no more at the direction of the House than Nancy listens to The Turtle.
So......while the House is burying itself in impeachment, again, that stops the Senate from confirming a SCOTUS nominee how, exactly?
House impeachment doesn’t stop Senate Confirmation. Senate summarily acquits POTUS again (they need just 35 votes to do so).
That was my thought, however, the House would have to bring the articles/vote on it first before it can go to the Senate.
And the Senate can vote it down in an hour.

That was all explored and discussed the last time. The Senate can take up the impeachment bill, mull it around for a few hours, and dismiss it. The House cannot command the Senate.
...which would take Harris off the campaign trail.
