TOWNSHIP TRICK OR TREAT
West Manchester Township ^ | 16 September A.D. 2020 | West Manchester Township

Posted on 09/21/2020 6:38:50 PM PDT by lightman

Trick or Treat activities for West Manchester Township are traditionally held on October 31st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Individuals or families wishing to participate in Trick or Treat activities should leave their porch or front yard lights on during this time frame. West Manchester Township neither encourages nor discourages participation in these events. The West Manchester Township Police Department will have an increased presence in several residential areas during this time period.

Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, individuals and families should assess all risks associated in participating in these events and make their own decision as whether or not to participate. The West Manchester Township Fire Department has however decided to cancel the “Trunk or Treat” event scheduled at Loman Park due to the State outdoor gathering restrictions and recommendations.

Individuals and families deciding to participate in any events are encouraged to social distance or wear a mask in such instances when social distancing is not possible.

In the case of inclement weather, individual developments or organizations are free to reschedule their events accordingly. West Manchester Township bears no responsibility for individuals, families or organizations deciding to participate in any Trick or Treat activities.

This is "man bites dog" news:

Imagine...a government trusting adults to make adult decisions!

....individuals and families should assess all risks associated in participating in these events and make their own decision as whether or not to participate.

Accompanied by "guidance", not mandates

Individuals and families deciding to participate in any events are encouraged to social distance or wear a mask in such instances when social distancing is not possible.

And this in Tom Wolf's backyard and ancestral homeground!

They cancelled the “Trunk Or Treat” event?

Well, no new luggage this year.

We (she) are gearing up for a Halloween display. Just for a drive by, no kids at the door. Bags of candy will be available.

We are going to have a flying witch on a broomstick and other spooky stuff. It is a festive time around here in this tiny town of 3k. She is the brains, I just back it up with money and carpentry.

No blm or anarchists around here. This county will be 97% Trump in November.

Christmas will be huge after Trump is re-elected. Dreading my electric bill for December.

I think that there would be a safe way to do this, we just need to work it out.Maybe just come to the door, ring, do “trick or treat” and take some candy in a bowl in family groups while the homeowners wave. I think it’s a good way for people to see and meet their neighbors.

In my neighborhood, Halloween was the town event of the year with the Halloween festival at the school with events, food, auctions for the PTO.

Trust grown-ups to make grown up decisions.

I’m delighted to see that West Manchester has decided against being a micromanaging nanny.

Some other communities in the county are taking the same approach.

I like it...”the government that governs least governs best.”
